In the second host segment, Crow has a doll that looks like Billy from the short and he holds it for the rest of the episode.
When reeds are mentioned, Crow lists several Reeds, including Robert Reed, Jerry Reed, Donna Reed, Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic of the Fanstastic Four) and Willis Reed. This bit was repeated in Blood Waters of Dr. Z, adding Vikings receiver Jake Reed.
(in the short, as the sub goes down) Tom: Meanwhile, in young Billy's bathtub... Crow: Yeah, Billy Bathtub, what a terrible movie. Tom: No, no, no, Crow...
(in the short, the professor's machine is activated) Crash: There's the signal again. Prof. Norton: They've been sending it every five minutes. Diana: They? Just whom do you mean by 'they'? Tom: Comedy Central.
Joel: (in the short, describing the war tank) It's the 1968 Chrysler Merrimack.
Holo-clown (Mike): Hey little girl, would you like a salted nut roll? Gypsy: Joel! Joel! (second Holo-clown (Paul) begins screaming) Holo-clown (Mike): What are you yelling at!? Shut up! Shut up! You think I like being stuck in limbo with you? No! Get on your orange and yellow knees and kiss my clown feet that I haven't killed you!
Joel: (as dogs search for missing people) You know, if I didn't know better, I'd say we were in the dullest part of the movie right now.
Joel: (as the leeches take blood from their victims) You still haven't got it right. We don't want hillbillies with good taste, we want hillbillies that taste good!
Crow: (as a man drinks from a jug) That's the suntan lotion!
Crow: (during a search of the swamp) Don't look now, but I think they found Jimmy Hoffa!
Dave: I didn't kill them. Crow: I ate them.
Dave: Run till you drop! Crow: Like I will!
Crow: (as Dave goes into the swamp) We now return to Fat Guy Goes Nutzoid, a Troma presentation.
Joel: Look at all the weed. Where are they, Tommy Chong's backyard?
Cal: You walk all the way, Dave? Crow: No, there's a motorcycle in my pants! What do you think?
Crow: This is more like Night of the Iguana than Attack of the Giant Leeches.
Crow: (as Steve kisses his girlfriend) Oh, he's the killer leech. Tom: No, letch. It's The Attack of the Killer Letch.
(as Liz takes off her robe) Tom: Oh, Mommy! Joel: Honey West! Crow: I thought underwear was supposed to match.
Crow: (as Dave's store appears) Looks like the right side of the wrong side of the tracks.
Billy: Hey, Dad! Crow: Why did they all turn around when he said "Dad"?
Crash: Some sort of a war tank. Joel, Crow and Tom: Oh well, a.... a war tank?!?!?!
Joel: GE, we bring good things to death.
Crash: I'll find out if they're friends or enemies. Tom: If they kill me, they're probably enemies.
Crow: (imitating Charlton Heston) Gray Lady Down for Contel.
(watching Crash wrestling) Tom: There's something sick about this. Joel: I call it "history", Tom.
Tom: Annapolis a day keeps the doctor-is away.
Crow: (as Dave falls behind) You two go on without me...oh, wait a minute, that's all wrong.
Joel: Boss Hogg After Dark.
Crow: It's a swamp, should we bring our evil in here?
Steve: (to the sheriff)) Oh, go soak your fat head. Joel: Okay, I'll go get some soap and....hey! Wait a minute...
Joel: (as Cal comes in the store looking for Liz) I'm here about the affair, I have an appointment for 2 o'clock Wednesday?
Sheriff: You work for the state. Crow: The state of confusion.
Crow: (seeing what the sheriff is eating) Mmm, breakfast beans!
Liz: You're so strong. Joel: Smelling, I mean.
Cal: Try me. Tom: Free trial samples. Try me for a week!
(as Steve and Nan canoe in the swamp) Joel: I feel like Lewis and Clark. Crow: Really? Joel: You be Jerry Lewis and I'll be Petula Clark.
Billy Bathgate: In the short, when a shot of Prof. Norton's sub appears, Tom says 'Meanwhile, in young Billy's bathtub...' and Crow retorts, 'Yeah, Billy Bathtub, what a terrible movie. This is a take off on the movie Billy Bathgate, based on the E. L. Doctorow book and starring Dustin Hoffman, Nicole Kidman and Bruce Willis. According to the Wikipedia entry for the character, Doctorow has disowned the movie for changing several key elements in the book; hence Crow's statement.
Star-Kist Tuna: When the leeches drain several victims, Joel says 'We don't want hillbillies with good taste, we want hillbillies that taste good!' This is a takeoff on the line in the Star-Kist Charlie the Tuna commercials. When Charlie tries to get caught, the announcer usually says, 'We don't want tuna with good taste, we want tuna that tastes good!'
General Electric: Joel said "GE, we bring good things to death." An old jingle for General Electric said, "GE, we bring good things to life."
Honey West: Joel thought Liz looked a little like 'Honey West.' Anne Francis starred as the title character in Honey West.
Troma: Crow said "a Troma presentation." Troma Studios was the independent studio that created the camp classic, The Toxic Avenger and dozens of other films of equal quality. It was named after the town of Tromavile, New Jersey, the setting for many of its films.
