This episode was Disc One on the 20th Anniversary Edition DVD set, the first release from Shout! Factory after they acquired the rights from Rhino Home Video.
During the prologue, Joel adjusts Servo's sarcasm sequencer, resulting in him dishing out an unusually large amount of sarcasm during the movie. This builds up to the final host segment where he launces on a lengthy sarcastic tirade until his head explodes. Throughout the episode, he condescendingly says "Sign me up!" at least five times.
Ha! Channel: When Brinkman has a malfunction with his reciever, he says, 'I'm not getting you,' to which Tom replies, 'I'm getting the Ha! channel.' This refers to the comedy network owned by Viacom which was a rival to the Comedy Channel, owned by Time Warner, which aired MST3K. By the time this episode aired, the two networks merged to form Comedy Central, where the show would continue to air until the end of 1996.
