      • Tom: (after a sequence of explosions, in which debris rains everywhere) Well, the credits should be exploding soon.

      • Tom: (as the sea boils and Godzilla emerges from the water) The jacuzzi of the gods!

      • Crow: (after Megalon rises from his slumber) It's Edward Scissorhands!

      • (Godzilla picks up a tree and shakes it in Megalon's eyes) Crow: He's got a tree! He's got a tree! That's not the Godzilla we know. He's fighting dirty! (Megalon falls to the ground in pain, covering his eyes) Joel: Hurts, don't it? (Jet Jaguar looks at Godzilla) Tom: Godzilla? A tree? That's not like you. Why? Why? (Godzilla throws the tree aside) Crow: Yeah, you're right. It's not the right club for this hole, anyway.

      • This episode was included in the original Volume 10 of the Mystery Science Theater 3000 Collection from Rhino Home Video; however, it was pulled from stores after about three months. It would be replaced in 2008 by The Giant Gila Monster on Volume 10.2.

      • Joel used to mention Godzilla vs. Megalon in his comedy act.

      • Most of the Halloween costumes are taken from Joel's standup comedy act.

      • Raymond Burr: When soldiers fire on Megalon, Tom says 'Someone can tell Raymond Burr he's late. Raymond Burr was the star of the original 1950's Godzilla.

      • Spiny Norman: Tom said "It's spiny Norman!" in reference to the Piranha Brothers skit featured in the Monty Python's Flying Circus episode Dinsdale. The line was spoken as a strange spined dinosaur waddles by. Spiny Norman is a giant hedgehog who "was wont to be about twelve feet from nose to tail, but when Dinsdale was very depressed Norman could be anything up to eight hundred yards long."
