(the men and female slave break into a lab) Tom: (seeing two men in white coats) Hey, they broke into a Rexall!
Joel: (seeing the singing twins) It's Hayley Mills and Hayley Mills in The Mothra Trap!
Dr. Forrester: Now your experiment this week, Joel, features a giant, blotated, mutant lizard. Frank: Meat Loaf? Dr. Forrester Godzilla!
Tom: I have seen the future of rock and roll and his name is Joel Robinson! Crow: I have seen the future of trite cliches and his name is Tom Servo. Joel: I have seen the future of an overripe load pan and his name is Crow!
An interesting thing happened in this episode, Joel and the bots do not come straight into the theater when the movie starts but rather wait till the opening credits are done with, which then leads to a lot of "What's the name of this movie" jokes.
This movie is also known as "Godzilla, Ebirah and Mothra: Big Duel in the South Seas".
This was the last episode to air on The Comedy Channel. On April 1, 1991 T.C.C. merged with it's competitor, Ha!, to become CTV. It lasted under that name for 2 months, during which time it was sued by Canadian TV, which has the copyright to the name CTV. On June 1, 1991 it changed its name to Comedy Central, which is still the network's name today.
Chicken Heart: When Godzilla is found, and is found to be breathing, Joel says, 'And that is when the chicken heart began to grow.' Tom replies, 'Thank you, Bill.' This is a reference to an old Bill Cosby comedy bit called 'Chicken Heart.'
