  • Mr. Beardsley??!! This one is special 'cause the movie really lends itself to the mst3k team like few others....

    I love this episode.

The guy from NY is so ridiculous in his know-it-all, confident way. And yet he's such a nerdy loser, with a 'muffin top' hair style to boot. I also love the various character exchanges: the dim-witted local worm farmer and his dysfunctional 'daddy', the NY slicker vs the ridiculous county sheriff... And all the while, Mike and the bots do a great job of cutting up the southern genteeeel way the girl and her momma act throughout. This is one of the greats of the Mike era and should be considered 'required' for any newcomers to the MST3K tradition. You will love it!
  • Worms. Lots of 'em. Pesticide? Wouldn't think of it. This staple of the late-night bad movie on local television finally gets the robot treatment.

This classic of unbelivably bad cinema earns its place on the Satellite of Love.

Here's the plot: a town is full of giant worms.

    That's it. That's all.

They crawl around, make squeaking noises--I didn't know worms had vocal cords--and somehow overwhelm people supplied with guns and trucks. Trucks they could have used to drive the heck out of there, but trust me, they don't. Too much logic for a film that has the intellectual caliber of dryer lint.

This film, in its original version, was rerun umpteen times as the 2:00 a.m. special on local t.v. when I was growing up. Given that fact, I'm amazed I turned out okay.
