The show begins its national run with a movie about a giant eyeball terrorizing a mountain resort.
  • Giant eyes wreck havoc at the top of a mountain.

Why do I watch this kind of show? or better then, Why would you watch this kind of show? What makes this show so watchable are, of course, the funny commentaries made by the show's hosts. In this episode though, i actually enjoyed the movie itself and i don't know why.

As for the laugh factor in this episode, it was not very high but it wasn't very low either. Although, very good for the first episode of the season.

Things I liked about this episode were: The movie itself and the crawling eyes, they were kind of neat.

Things I didn't like so much: the jokes in the show were not the funniest.moreless

A lot of early sci-fi films displayed a fear of what would happen if technology got out of control. It was imagined that nuclear accidents would cause life forms to mutate, so that bugs, rabbits, and all sorts of creatures became at once gigantic and evil. The fact that this is unsound in actual science--radiation will harm or kill an individual, and only cause genetic problems starting with the offspring--did not enter into the thinking of the writers. They either didn't know, or didn't want to explain it to the audience, because that would waste a good story.

Nevertheless, here's another shot at the genre. A big eyeball crawls around, causing havoc in a little town. People run here and there screaming, and try various pointless methods to get it to stop.

What's more important to the overall show is that during this episode, the scientists move to the lair of Deep 13. That's a deep underground level of the complex where host Joel used to work.

In any event, the movie's attempts at special effects are laughably bad. It's good to see the crew story making progress toward the one we grew to know and love.

And if you ever encounter a giant eyeball, just stick a loose eyelash under the corner, it'll have it keeled over in no time. That always drive me nuts.moreless
  • The first episode on Comedy Central as the bots make fun of a cheap black and white movie called \"The Crawling Eye\"

    7.1
    "Good"
This is one of those cheap movies where the alleged monster is almost never seen but implied.

The beginning has three mountain climbers where one is killed by an alleged monster (that we never see).

Then there is a pretty brunette on a train apparently on her way to the same mountain. I couldn\'t make heads or tails of the movie. I mean they call it the Crawling Eye, yet there are crazy villages killing mountain climbers as well with a pick axe.

This is when they were still experimenting with the voices after the K00 (the actual season) but Joel and company still make the proper disection for this \"film\".
