I love when MST3K takes on a half-baked gangster movie. Granted, this movie has a sci-fi touch (Lon Chaney is reanimated and made indestructible), but it's still dopey noir dialogue, femme fatales and cops on the trail. It's a crock, and putty in the hands of Joel and the bots.

By this point in the show's run (midway through Season 4), the writers had the formula down. MST3K was firing on all cylinders, and "Indestructible Man" is a perfect example of the show at its best.

The story goes that Lon Chaney was so out of it when they made this movie that they cut 90% of his dialogue and just did those tight shots of his eyes (so effectively lampooned by Joel during one of the host segments). That's a little sad to think about while you're watching this, but ultimately you forget about it and just get caught up in how awesomely bad this movie is.moreless
