This episode is on Disc Three of Mystery Science Theater XV, the third DVD set distributed by Shout! Factory. It includes an interview with Jon-Milk Thor and Frank Dietz talking about making the movie, seeing it on the show and how being on the show has helped the movie.
The two primary reasons Zombie Nightmare's premiere was held off for so long are that: A) this was being shown across the country as part of Comedy Central's Fresh Cheese Tour, B) Comedy Central refused to pay Best Brains for Turkey Day bumpers, and were able to get Adam West to do some Turkey Day bumpers.
Debuted on Thanksgiving 1994 as part of that years Turkey Day Marathon.
