Episode Summary

EDIT
Inspector Lewis
AIRED:
This episode is a murder mystery starring Lewis of the Thames Valley Police, previously of course the sidekick of Oxford's Inspector Morse but now promoted to Inspector. It was made as the pilot for a possible new Morse spin-off series, with both Morse himself and the actor who played him now dead.moreless

  • A great way to spend watching during a fall evening. Keep them coming

    9.5
This is a superb series. If anything it is even better than Inspector Morse. The production values are much higher and the characters are intriguing with subtle plots .Definitely worth seeing twice. I can hardly wait for the next season. Keep them coming.

The character of Hathaway provides lots of provocative talk in our house and it is good to have someone to act as an active and different foil to the more straightforward Lewis. Who knows what lurks deep in the mind of Hathaway. What sort of life does he have and how does he hone his obvious intellegence?moreless
  • A First rate spin-off - superbly done. 'Inspector Lewis' will be a big hit in its own right, believe me!

    9.5
The pilot show was excellent - and so are the entire two series that followed.

Inspector Lewis follows on from the (rightly) highly acclaimed Inspector Morse - and doesn't miss a beat. In fact, I think I prefer Lewis's character over that of Morse's - and I never thought I would say that!

The inter-personal relationship between Lewis and his Sergeant is more believable than that between Morse and Lewis - just! Lewis IS fallible - AND open to suggestions. The Oxford locale doesn't hurt the show, while the camera work and the Direction are First Rate - truly First Rate!

This show deserves to succeed - it truly does!moreless
