  • There were 4 challenges: 1. A blind man driving with guidance from a sighted person. 2. A tree is 90% air. 3. Golfer with metal spikes more likely to be struck by lightning than one with plastic. 4. Explosions can make a gomoreless

Mostly silly, but I'm mainly interested in #2, which was painful because of the mathematical (logical) inaccuracy. The golf myth that "a tree is 90% air" was not busted. You busted the myth (if it ever existed), that most balls should go through the tree.

The painful part comes from the horribly unscientific that, if a tree is 90% air, then 90% of golf balls hit into it should pass through. If that's the case, than almost every ball hit into a chickenwire fence should go through.

It was indeed painful to hear this ridiculous syllogism repeated several times.moreless
