Can a straw go through a palm tree? Can a hurricane really take the feathers off a chicken? and Plant Polygraphing
  • Another very fun, and exciting installment of Mythbusters.

Hahahahaha, episodes like THIS are why I watch Mythbusters. And.... Most Mythbusters episodes ARE like this, so... they're ALL great!! Another really fun myth for the guys, and a fun episode for viewers all around. This is something we've all heard of: the possibility of very strong winds sending toothpicks, or bits of straw, or pebbles right into large objects, and in somecases, humans. The plant polyfraphing part was hilarious, I've never seen Torry with a sillier look on his face. And, of course, the stun gun just makes the ending even bettre than it would have been. Then agan, seeing the boys try to blow the feathers off a dead bird is pretty amusing, too.moreless
  • Jamie and Adam test the myth of whether high winds can force straw through a tree while Grant and Tory play with a lie dtector to test of plants have a consciousness.moreless

This has got to be the only spooky episode in the series. After playing with a lie detector, Grant and Tory test to get signals from a plant and at first they actually get results (like I said, creepy) but when they start removing all the variables, it turns out that the lie detector just might be too sensitive to the other stimuli around it. Competing for attention in the episode, the other myth concerns straw through a tree - an old tale that has popped in several text books. Despite being busted, I think Adam and Jamie left out a few variable such as the type of tree in the original account.moreless
