we are indeed on a long break this year.. and the reason we ended so soon and on the clip show was b/c of the cannon ball incident that delayed production for a few months.. b/c of that, we are having a longer than average break between seasons..

so for those complaining about that season finale clip show.. they really had no choice, they had to fill 1 more episode but couldnt get anything to air b/c of the delay..

right now we are listing the premiere at Feb 3rd, but we expect that date to be pushed back and changed...

Wow. Well I guess the cannonball ep was a valid reason for the delay, but I didn't think the next new ep will be April. At least I know I didn't miss anything all this time.

the cannonball really did set them behind a few months, plus they have been doing live tours, so they havent exactly been doing any mythbusting.. chances are this april 7th date isnt happening either.. they have been very quiet on the premiere date for some reason...

Official web site says it will be back in Spring 2013. It could be end of Spring. :O

The spring season has usually started the first week of April for the past few years and I was getting ready for this weekend, but as the gang and the @mythbusters twit feeds have not tweeted anything about the new season I dug around and found that May 5th may be the new start date, is this correct? Spring! that's nearly Summer!

That is like 6 months break. I hope as a result we will have a full episode run through the rest of the year without any more breaks ie: September.

oh well that was a preemptive guess and now here is the correct info incl some of the upcoming episode ideas.

The Discovery hit celebrates its 10-year anniversary with new episodes beginning Wednesday, May 1. The gang will revisit the first myth they ever tested a decade ago — trying to find out, once and for all, if a a rocket-propelled car can actually fly.

Other highlights this season include a Breaking Bad-themed episode, a cross-over with Deadliest Catch and an episode featuring Indycar driver Ryan Briscoe and Olympic runner Wallace Spearmon.

    Other myths being tested include:

Can power naps taken over a 30-hour period double your performance as opposed to staying away for 30 hours straight?
Is a crab pot really indestructible like the Deadliest Catch captains claim it is?
Which is more sanitary: drying your hands with a hand dryer or a hand towel?
What is the best way to protect yourself during an earthquake?
Is it actually possible that Indy racing drivers sweat so much that they can lose 10 pounds of body mass per race?
Are women better than men at multitasking?
Can you really use explosives to help paint a room?

As we previously reported, Mythbusters is also doing a zombie-themed episode with Walking Dead actor Michael Rooker, but that episode isn't airing until the show's second batch of season 10 episodes (likely in the fall, but there's no confirmed date yet).
