yep.. time for summer break.. next batch of 10-12 episodes comes in october.. (and as jamie has said in the past, the number of shows varies on the amount of time it takes them to complete myths).. it only takes 2 days to edit it down for a show and add there "description" shots but if a myth takes too long to complete, it eats into their total # of episodes and you end up with a "busters cut" situation to fill air time..

How long does it usually take to work on complex myth?

In October, will the new episodes still be on Sunday nights? I think Walking Dead will be on that night again. Dang conflicts!

considering the ratings dip they took by being moved to sundays, im sure they will be looking at if they will be staying on sundays or not for this fall.. that wont be determined until september most likely when they see how the otehr networks plan to program their schedules and discovery will plug the mythbusters into a decent position hopefully... and when i was at their live show earlier this year, both adam and jamie when pressed by fans if the show was being cancelled due to low ratings/being moved to sundays, they said outright that they are NOT in DANGER of cancellation at all..

in the live show, they also mentioned one of the longest myths took them 2 years to complete due to finding and creating materials for a certain myth, once it was done, it only took 2-3 days to make companion video parts to go with it to complete the episode..

on average their mythbusting of 1 myth can be anywhere from a few days to a few months, where converting that into a 1 hour episode takes only 2-3 days tops..

if myths take too long to complete, we end up with the busters cut episodes where they have to fill the episode order given by making "flashback" type episodes .. if everything runs smooth, you can get a full set of 20-24 regular mythbusting episodes, where they run 10-12 episodes in a split season ( Oct-Dec/Jan and Apr-June) and summers completely dark, unless discovery asks them to provide a themed special of some sort to air in the summer

A notable nitpick of mine I'd like to ask would be for them to stop with the back and forth stuff from A&J to the Build team. They should start off the 1st quarter with them, the next 2 quarters for the build team and finally back to A&J for the last part (A1,B1&2,A2 or A1,B1,A2,B2 nice 'even' 15 min intervals). I don't even bother watching the show as it airs anymore and opting to watch from the dvr and focusing on one group at a time and of course skipping the commercials.
