This is the first time both Adam and Jamie were injured while attempting the same myth
This is the infamous Myth that shut down the show's production for a few months due to the misfire. It originally was not set to air at all, but after everything was settled, the myth was reworked and retested.
Buster 4.0 (the crash test dummy) Makes his 1st Appearance in the show.
Buster 2.0 will still be used as well.
Also Mentioned in the Live Tour, their intention was always to return to the island on the boat and not actually sail to another mainland. They wanted to test how long the boat would survive at sea more than they were going after finding land. They were in Hawaii afterall. And Yes, they did stay in that hotel you can see in the background of a few shots.
In the MythBusters Live Tour, Jamie revealed to the audience that he actually found fresh water on the beach when he dug that hole, but because it wasn't found by using duct tape, it was edited to appear that it was salt water and thus he was forced to build his clear plastic setup to get the water. He explained that anyone can find fresh water at the beach using that 3 foot hole method, but since it wasn't related to duct ape, it wasn't mentioned in the episode.
Goof: Moments after Adam and Jamie climb into their boat, you can see a hotel in the background just behind Adam's head.

Jessi is introduced in the Intro as: "Featuring" Jessi Combs.
Jessi Combs's First Speaking Role in the Show. Was seen breifly in previous episode, but has more of a speaking role in this episode.
This is Kari's Final Appearance before leaving on Maternity Leave.
In the smooth ball vs dimpled ball experiment, the averages were 556 feet and 893 feet, respectively. It is stated that the dimpled balls traveled 37% further. However they actually traveled 61% further.
When the pinball drop and shoot results came out 402ms and 410ms, it is stated that it is a .8% difference. However, the difference is 2%(2.5x the stated difference).
This is the first time they actually say out loud that Kari is pregnant (she was 6 months pregnant during this episode, which puts the recording at around January 2009). This is also the first episode where she is clearly showing.
