Episode Summary

With all of his tenketsus closed, Naruto cannot feel chakra in him and can barely stand. Neji continues to say that Naruto's fate does not include his winning. Neji exclaims that Naruto has no idea what it feels like to carry a seal that cannot be removed. Naruto thinks about how he was neglected and ignored because of the Nine-Tails sealed within him and says that he does too understand. Now, the only way for Naruto to win lies in summoning Kyubi's chakra.moreless

    While Neji is going on about how his life sucks, Naruto, who seems defeated, remembers that he possesses two different chakra. He concentrates and eventually he is able to summon the chakra of the nine tails fox which the entire stadium responded with ohhhs and ahhhs. Even with his new chakra Neji was still an equal match. After exchanging their final blows, it appears that Naruto lost. Neji stands proudly, but out of nowhere, a fist comes flying from the ground. Naruto upsets the heavily favoured Neji.

    So I'm going to complain about how this fight moved at a Dragonball Z pace and that it took forever for all of the events to really roll, but I thought the ending was brilliant. How Naruto dug into the ground, scratching his nails on the way, and creating a replication of himself, which is the technique that caused him repeated failures at the academy, to KO Neji was brilliant. It was even more interesting how he used the normal replication technique which he hates instead of his favourite technique the shadow replication.moreless

    Neji has closed 64 of Naruto's tenketsu making Naruto unable to use chakra. Hinata gets sick and Sakura and Ino get anxious. The stadium was so shocked that they thought Neji has won his battle. Naruto unwilling to give up, stands up and then the Hyuga branch hatred is revealed. The mark was creepy. It was an ex. Destiny is like Neji said. The curse was like creepy. The mark was given to the cadets. Neji says Destiny crap and Naruto fights back. The Hyuga history was interesting. Naruto will prove it to Neji that he'll win and change the history of Hyuga for Neji. Naruto awakes the fox's chakra. Neji's so pessismistic. Then the moves got into play and chakra starts oozing out. Hiashi and the hokage were both shocked. A huge explosion occurs and Naruto uses a shadow clone as his last resort. Neji is defeated with Naruto digging holes.Naruto proves Neji wrong and win the fight.moreless

    Neji has just closed all of Naruto's chakra points. Naruto is still able to stand and tells Neji that he will defeat him. Neji can't see how since Naruto can't use his chakra. Naruto starts to wonder how he can beat Neji, when he thinks back to his training with Jiraiya. He knows the only way he can win is to call on the chakra of Kyubi. Naruto begins to channel the chakra and to everyone's amazement Naruto starts to get stronger. Neji is shocked. Naruto charges at Neji and they block each others moves. Naruto then gets his kunai and charges at Neji again and Neji performs the triagram defense....moreless

    A failures true power is one of favorite episodes in the Naruto series. Actually it is my favorite episode. What can I say this episode was awesome. Naruto surprised everybody when he defeated Neji. Neji was supposed to be the best genin out there,and well for most of the fight it looked like Naruto would lose. Then all of a sudden Naruto used the power within him to defeat Neji. Not did Naruto surprise Neji but he also surprised every one at the Chuunin Finals. I think this is the turning part of series,where Naruto starts to become one of the strongest characters in the anime.moreless

    • When Naruto fights Neji in Kyuubi mode, at one point after they clash and land on the ground, skidding away from each other, Naruto uses the kunai in his hand to help him stop sliding by stabbing it into the ground. Yet when we see a shot of him after the dust settles, there is no mark in the ground from the kunai.
