Episode Summary

Since Sakura was the only who did not get injured in the previous battle she must watch over and protect her teammates. Unknown to her though there are Sound ninja watching from the trees. Sakura falls asleep but is awakened by a nightmare. The sound ninja attack her but she reveals a trap. It fails and Sakura is left defenseless. Lee arrives, but will he be enough to defeat the three Sound ninja?moreless

    Sakura is the only one conscious on Team 7. The sound ninja attack on orders from Orochimaru. First they send a squirrel with a paper bomb on its back. Sakura spots the squirrel and stops it from getting closer. The sound ninja decide that they will now attack. Meanwhile Lee is traveling through the forest and comes across the squirrel with the paper bomb in flames on its back. Lee saves the squirrel and wonders who would do such a cruel thing. The sound ninja sneak up on Sakura and charge at her. Just as they are about to get to her, Lee jumps into the fight and stops them.....moreless

    Orochimaru reveals his purpose to recruit followers to Anko. He taunts her for her interest in his new find, Sasuke, the perfect vessel to be his successor. He warns her that if she interferes in the exam, Leaf Village is finished. Sakura watches over her teammates as they recover from their injuries. She vows not to fall asleep, but does. Naruto and Sasuke awaken, bringing tears to Sakura's eyes. Suddenly, Orochimaru shows up, transforming into a snake head and attacks the boys. She tries to warn them but she lost her voice. She awakens, startled from the nightmare.

    Sakura hears a rustle from the bushes. It is only a squirrel. She throws a kunai to scare it off, not realizing that the Sound ninja's watching her placed an explosion tag on it. They decide to move closer. Meanwhile, Rock Lee scouts out the forest. He spots 20 leaves falling to the ground and daydreams that if he can catch all 20, Sakura will like him. He catches all but one when he sees a squirrel with an explosion tag on him. He rushes to its aid.

    Neji, meanwhile has found Team 10 hiding in the bushes. Knowing full well that Neji would never fight weak opponents like them without being challenged, Ino decides to flirt instead. Disgusted, Neji walks away, telling them that taking a scroll from cowards like them would only make him the laughing stock of his village. Ino gets angry at his remarks and so she raised her fist. Neji sees this and asks them if they wanted to fight but Ino and her team just runs off into the bushes.moreless

  • Sakura takes care of her teammates but then the Sound Genin try to kill Sasuke as an oder from Orochimaru, Rock Lee steps in and fights them.

    This episode was not the best that I have seen but it was good. Rock Lee fought the three Sound Genin all to protect Sakura and Sakura's teammates. It was good what he did yet he did help another team which was not so good. At least he did something. Sakura at this point of the episode was doing nothing. She needed Rock Lee to help her which I wouldn't argue with but she had done nothing to help her team. She had not fought. The only thing useful that she did was care for the team. In conclusion, Rock Lee did an awesome job of fighting even though he lost but at least he is not like Sakura who did nothing.moreless

    The Team 7 vs. Orochimaru battle is over. Sakura was the only one who wasn't hurt, so she has to take care of Naruto and Sasuke who are still out cold. They take shelter in the root of a giant tree. Sakura sees a squirrel coming towards her, and throws a kunai at it to scare it away. (My BFF's dad would have just used his BB gun!) Then you see the Sound Trio mumbling about something and you see they glued a paper bomb to the squirrel's back. Team Guy has split up to cover more ground. Lee is goofing off trying to get all 30 leaves before they hit the ground because he thinks Sakura will love him if he does. He sees the same squirrel from before and saves it from the paper bomb, but doing so, Lee only collects 29 leaves and sadly watches the last one fall. At the same time, Team 10 (Ino, Shikamaru, and Choji) are hiding in the bushes. Shikamaru and Ino are thinking of a plan and Choji is eating. then Neji comes up and tells them to show themselves. Ino tells her teammates that they need to go for Plan B, and Shikamaru begs her not to. (I can see why. T_T) The trio hop out of the bushes. Shikamaru says, "Oh my gosh!!!!! You're Neji Hyuga!!!!! Can I have your autograph?!?!?" And Ino says, "Oh Neji! I've been waiting so long to meet you!" Then Neji calls them a bunch of losers and runs away. The Sound Trio attack Sakura when Super Lee to the rescue shows up and attempts to beat them but Dosu made a loud noise in Lee's ear and it bleeds and he falls over. Tenten and Neji meet back up and can't find Lee so they go out looking for him.moreless
