Naruto Season 5 Episode 16

Shikamaru: It's a dangerous mission, and if I decided to scrap it, I'd have been playing by the book.
Tayuya: Of course. Then why didn't you scrap it?
Shikamaru: It's kinda funny. The world doesn't seem to play by the book very often, does it? Besides there's not a man in my platoon who wouldn't stop fighting and abandon a friend who'd been captured by the enemy. Not even if it meant sacrificing all of their lives. That goes for me too.

Tayuya: Well, let's get on with it, you wimps!

Shikamaru: (Thinking) We've got to choose the path that's best for the mission, and if we don't, we'll fail.

Kimimaro: I've had a taste of Lord Orochimaru's magnificent dream.
Naruto: (Getting angry) Orochimaru?!
Kimimaro: This vessel is an important part of his dream. It has the flesh that Lord Orochimaru desires, but you have taken too much time retrieving it.

Kimimaro: I understand much more now. The strength of my life force has intensified since escaping the prison of human flesh.

Shikamaru: You sure talk a pretty good game, but you fell for the oldest trick in the book.

Tayuya: You rodents, I'm going to end this in a flash!

Shikamaru: Frankly, I'm a lazy, cloud watching oaf who's not really cut out to be a leader or bark out orders at anyone. But there is one thing I do pretty darn well for my teammates, and that's believing in them.

Naruto: (Flies towards Tayuya) I'm gonna punch your lights out! (Flies over Tayuya) HIYAA, ha, ha! (Lands on a tree branch) Heh, this plan is working! (Spanks himself) I'll see you around! (Makes a face, then jumps away, snickering)
Tayuya: What the? That whole thing was a trick! TEAMWORK MY BUTT, YOU DIRTY CONNIVING LITTLE WEASELS!

Shikamaru: (Thinking to himself after seeing Kimimaro) Another freak to deal with. He doesn't seem like an ordinary opponent. We need to buy time and sort out the situation. It'd be dumb to confront him without knowing...
Naruto: (Yelling at Kimimaro) Hey, jerk! I've had just about enough of this nonsense you're yakkin' about!

Kimimaro: My body is too devastated to move on its own anymore. I use the power of my mind.
Tayuya: No way! Now you're cheating death.

Naruto: Hey!
Kimimaro: Let's see, how shall I destroy you?

Kimimaro: Tayuya, I could end your life right now if I wished to. The reason I've decided to spare you is because you have a duty that you must complete. And my duty, is to deliver that coffin to Lord Orochimaru intact.

Shikamaru: Sorry, Naruto. It looks like I miscalculated.

Naruto: Kiba and Akamaru are still gone!
Shikamaru: And we've got another one to deal with.

Naruto: There's no way you're going to take Sasuke.

Shikamaru: Remember this, a person's jutsu isn't his only weapon.

Orochimaru: Kabuto, you really are a hateful nasty person, aren't you?

Shikamaru: To be exact, I'm a lazy-ass who loves to look at clouds.

Tayuya: You fool. One little midget, what are you going to do? And also, look what happened. Each time, in order to move forward, you sacrificed one of your members, didn't you? Is that guy Sasuke so precious to you? Just for the sake of one person...how many of your team members are you willing to lose? You mindless worm.
Shikamaru: That might be true. This is my first mission as a team leader. Of course I am worried, seeing as how the number of my teammates has dwindled. I don't even know if my actions are right or not. And I know I am responsible for their lives. Rather than worry about one guy who has been kidnapped, I should think about the other four. Scrapping the mission would be playing by the book.
Tayuya: Then why didn't you?
Shikamaru: In this world, not everything plays out like a game of Go. After all, we aren't the kind of people to abandon a kidnapped person just for our own safety.

Kimimaro: (Unenthusiastically) Wow.

Shikamaru: Naruto, now!
Naruto: I'm going to kick your ass!
(Naruto jumps over Tayuya)
Naruto: Just kidding. Plan successful! See ya!
(Naruto pats his butt, makes a face and leaves)
Tayuya: Damn it! You tricked me! "Teamwork", my ass! You pieces of shit!
