  • Do you believe in ghosts?

Naruto seems to. And this is why he is so hesitant to accept this mission. Some travelers have mysteriously vanished. And it is up to Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata to find out what's going on in the Land of Honey. They stumble across an old and abandoned castle. They think someone lives there, but truth be told, it has been abandoned for the past 50 years! But something seems very odd and off about this castle. It seems to be...WATCHING Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata!! It doesn't seem to want them to leave. It seems to be...BREATHING!? Well, let us hope they don't suffer the same fate as those who previously perished in this castle tomb!moreless
  • Like a bad episode of Scooby Doo... :P

Wow, I was watching this with my mom and I said, "Wow, this is like a bad ep of Scooby Doo." And then Naruto tripped over a dead samurai and yelled, "ZOINKS!" I laughed so hard I nearly peed my pants!!! Well, it's been a long time since I've seen this episode, so I don't really have much to say about it. I've just kinda put off writing the review because I've had so much homework lately... It was probably a good episode, I wish I remembered it. :( Well, I've got to go now. Just five more words... OK, BYE!moreless
  • Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata investigate a mysterious castle.

A group from the Land of Honey is traveling along when they are ambushed by some unknown force. All that is left after the light dissappears is some pieces of the carriage. Tsunade tells Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata that they are to go and search for the missing party and find them. They get to the area where the party was last seen and find a mysterious castle. It starts to rain and they go inside to get out of the weather. Once they get inside the castle, things start to get weird. They find out that the castle is actually....moreless
  • Nice episode.

Aw, you have to love the team Naruto, Hinata, and Kiba! This episode was kind of a scary episode, but still cool. I loved the Hinata and Naruto part where Hinata is like Naruto has a lot of good things about him but she's all like shy and blushing ha you have got to love Hinata and Naruto! Awesome ness! It was scary because the thing was actually a lizard, but Naruto is awesome for the throwing Rasengan thing. When they were getting eaten and stuff that was kinda scary I guess. So, well, it was a nice filler episode. End.moreless
  • Spooky haunted house!

This was a cool episode. I can't believe that Naruto is afraid of ghosts. Everything else he is brave for, but he's afraid of ghosts. Actually if you watched the other ghost filler episode you would know that Naruto is scared of ghosts already. The part with Hinata saying she knows that Naruto has strong points was pretty funny. I've noticed that a lot of the filler epsiodes have Hinata, Kiba, and Naruto as a team. Probably because they're the only genin left in the village at the time. I like them as a team, they're not the most exciting team but the few moments between Hinata and Naruto are cute.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • After the explosion of light, Lady Kaio's carriage falls to the ground. When the parts are seen falling you can see the roof is in many pieces, but when the carriage is seen on the ground, the roof is still intact.

    • When the creature disappears, after the contract is destroyed, the base of the castle is not there. But when Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata are talking about Kouza wanting the creature to be released, they are standing by the base of it.

    • Before Naruto moves, the man in the painting is near the edge of the boarded up window. But when Naruto moves, it moves over towards the middle of it.

    • When Naruto moved and the eyes of the painting followed him, the eyes were looking to the left. But when Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata are shown, Naruto is standing directly in front of the picture.

    • When Naruto, Hinata, and Kiba enter the castle there is only one light on and it is on the left side. When they set their stuff down on the right side the lights are on inside the room on that side. When they enter the room Akamaru ran in the lights on the other side are off again.

  • QUOTES (19)

    • Kiba: He must have died resenting those who'd seized his castle.
Hinata: But he also lead us to where the scroll was hidden.
Naruto: You figure he finally decided to let go of his grudge?
Kiba: Seems that way. Or heck, could be he thought fifty years was long enough to keep that summoned animal in his service. Maybe he just wanted to let the poor old beast to return home.
Naruto: Think so? Then maybe he needed help releasing that creature from its imprisonment, freeing it.
Hinata: And now it's finally home.

    • Naruto: What do we do? How are we going to get out of this guy's stomach?
      Hinata: I don't know.
Kiba: If this creature was summoned, there'll be a contract somewhere. Tear up the scroll and this thing goes back to where it came from.

    • Naruto: I don't get it. Why would he tell his pet castle to eat us like some sort of snack? What did we ever do to him?
      Hinata: I don't know.

    • Naruto: I've actually seen something like this before inside the stomach of a giant toad that Pervy Sage summoned.
Kiba: Inside its stomach? So wait, does that mean that this smell is stomach acid?

    • Hinata: Hey, this table is set for seven people.
Naruto: What's so special about that?
Hinata: Well, the party that went missing from the Land of Honey had seven people in it, which mean the lady and her attendants could be somewhere in this castle. Why don't we split up and look for them?
Naruto: Huh? What do you want to split up for? No reason to split up a perfectly good team. Right, guys? All for one and one for all.
Kiba: Oh, give it a rest, Naruto. Quit acting like such a baby. Try to focus on the mission here.
Naruto: All right. You don't have to be such a bully about it. I know, okay.

    • Naruto: Yah!
      Hinata: What's the matter?
Kiba: Come on, don't startle us like that.
Naruto: Yeah, b-but that painting's eyes just moved!
Kiba: You idiot, paintings don't move. Stop being such a wuss, will ya.

    • Hinata: It's magnificent.
Naruto: Wouldn't it be sorta rude to go barging in all of a sudden? I mean, it's a little late for company right now.
Kiba: Come on, don't tell me you really are scared?
Naruto: Why would you think that? Don't be silly.

    • Hinata: A castle.
Kiba: That's funny, I've never heard of one around here.
Hinata: I'm getting a bad feeling.
Naruto: That's what I'm saying, this is the creepiest mission ever!
Kiba: Maybe we should check it out. I bet we find some clues here.
Hinata: Let's go have a look.
Kiba: Okay, we're getting soaked out here anyway.
Naruto: What's the hurry? It's just a little rain!

    • Kiba: Hey, this is it.
Naruto: Kubisaki Pass, huh. I don't know why, but this place gives me the creeps.

    • Tsunade: (Referring to Naruto) Every day it's the same thing with that kid.

    • Kiba: Just tell us where we're going and we'll take off.
      Tsunade: Kubisaki Pass.
Naruto: K-Kubisaki Pass?! Doesn't that mean "broken neck"?! I knew this was going to be trouble!
Tsunade: (Loses temper) Idiot! A ninja doesn't get scared by things that go bump in the night! Now get out of my office!
Naruto: (Runs out) I'll take my chances with the ghost!

    • Naruto: There isn't anything weird about this mission is it?
      Tsunade: Weird like how?
Naruto: Well... Um... You know... maybe?
Tsunade: Are you kidding? You're not telling me you're scared of spirits are you?
Naruto: Oh... Well... Maybe a little.
Tsunade: Ghouls and ghosts are just a bunch of hooey. Get going already and stop wasting my time!

    • Kiba: Okay, so what's the story? You want us to track her down?
Tsunade: That is correct. Your nose and Hinata's eyes make you perfect for the mission, and Naruto was...well...available.
Naruto: What's that supposed to mean, Grandma? Are you saying I don't bring anything to the table?
      Tsunade: That's accurate, isn't it?
      Naruto: Gah!

    • Kiba: (About a painting) What's that?
      Naruto: One scary-looking fella.

    • Tsunade: Shinobi don't whine about such stupid things! Hurry up and go!
Naruto: This is more scary than ghosts!
      Kiba: I'm off!
Hinata: E-Excuse me! (Closes the door)

    • Tsunade: Has Naruto's cowardice spread to you, Shizune?

      ~Japanese version

    • Hinata: A castle?
Kiba: I didn't hear anything about a castle around here...
Hinata: It kinda gives off a bad aura...
Naruto: See? See? This is starting to become a really weird mission!

      ~Japanese version

    • Hinata: Naruto...I think that you have good points in you Naruto.
Naruto: Oh? Just as I would expect from you Hinata! Now tell those points to Granny Tsunade! (Pauses) Hey, hey, what are my good points?
      Hinata: Uh, um... (Blushes) So...
Naruto: (Angrily) Don't wonder about it!

      ~Japanese version

    • Tsunade: Naruto aside, Hinata's Byakugan, combined with Kiba and Akamaru's sense of smell, is just perfect for this mission.
Naruto: What's the deal, Granny? Are you saying that I don't have any merits?
      Tsunade: Isn't that true?

      ~Japanese version

  • NOTES (13)

    • In the English dubbed version, when Naruto trips over one of the dead samurai, he yells out "Zoinks!". This is a familiar yell of Shaggy, from the Scooby-Doo cartoon series that deals with many supernatural mysteries. The episode itself is very similar to the series in many aspects.

    • While probably not planned, this episode premieres at the same time with the animated movie Monster House which also features two guys and a girl journeying into a house that eats those who enter it. Overall, the episode bares resemblance to a whole range of "living house" horror/thriller movies.
