  • Don't open the scroll

    10
With Naruto with Sakura, they try to open the scroll even though it's booby trapped. Kabuto stops them and says he has both scrolls. He's a bad guy obviously. Then Sasuke wants to fight Kabuto for those scrolls. However, he takes them to fight another team for the heaven scroll. This move was risky and I got to say if it weren't for Kabuto, then who knows what might've happened. There were teams that were waiting to get to the centre building. that way, they can rob other teams. When some ninjas fight, it looked like Kabuto was going to be knocked out.
  • Naruto and Sakura decide to open the scroll even though it may be booby trapped.

Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura have stopped to rest and recuperate. Sasuke goes to get more water after they finish their meal. Naruto tells Sakura that he has extra scrolls and maybe they can creat a fake Heaven Scroll to go with the Earth Scroll that they have. Sakura thinks that it is a bad idea at first, but then agrees that it may be the only way they can pass the exam. Just as Naruto is about to open the scroll, Kabuta shows up and stops him. It seems that Kabuta needs help getting to the temple and he already has both scrolls. Kabuta agrees to help them if they help him get to the temple....

After much needed rest, Team 7 takes a break. Everyone got a souvenir from the battle with the Orochimaru and his followers. Sakura has short hair, Sasuke has a curse mark, and Naruto has a 5 Pronged Seal on him. Naruto thinks he can create a Heaven scroll, but first needs to know what is inside the Earth scroll. Sasuke goes to look for water, and leaves Naruto in Sakura's care. Naruto convinces her to look inside the scroll, and they almost do. Kabuto shows up at the last minute and stops them. Sasuke returns and sees that Kabuto already has both his scrolls, and tells Kabuto he'll fight him for them. Kabuto says that he'll just shows them how to get a scroll by ambushing another team. On the way to the tower, they encounter a team of Rain Genin. They start making clones. Is all lost for Team 7 and Kabuto?
  • Naruto tries to peak at the scroll that his team has but Kabuto stops them and then Team 7 with Kabuto go to the tower to get some scrolls there from other teams by defeating them.

This episode was definitely well written. They showed what had happened to 2 people who had read the scrolls and then when Naruto is about to read the scroll with Sakura Kabuto Stops them. That moment was definitely a moment of suspense that was waiting to happen. Finally Kabuto helps the team out by making a plan to get the needed scroll which means that they would have to go to the tower. Kabuto seemed nice but there is something about him that I didn't like. The team realizes that they aren't getting any closer, Sasuke realizes that it is genjutsu. Sasuke is clever as I've said before. The episode had much suspense with the revealing of what the scroll contained which is what I liked about this episode.
  • Suspenseful.

Naruto's idea wasn't completely stupid. (It reminds me of something I'd think up. The idea seems good at first, but when you tell it to someone else, they find many flaws in it and it sounds stupid. Yet he tried to go through with it anyways because it seemed like it was their only hope of passing the 2nd part of the Chunnin Exam. He knew the plan had a lot of flaws, but he was goning to try to take the plan one step at a time. It's so much like something I'd do it's scary. O_o XD) Lol. When Sasuke came back from fetching water and was scolding Naruto and Sakura, he sounded like a mother. Overall it was a decent episode.
  • Naruto Opens the Earth Scroll.

    8.6
With one day left and Team 7 haven't find a Heaven Scoll, Naruto decides to open it. Just about when Naruto and Sakura are opening it, Kabuto stopped them in time. He told them how he saw other candidate opens the scoll and put them in a Hypnosis until the test ends. They asked Kabuto where they could find the scroll and he told them to look at the end part of the forest. They'll find people who have the scroll or want it. So they came to the end. The walked around in cricles without knowing it. Then the tema figures out that somebody's spying on them and they have been found. The battle start next time on another episode of Naruto.
  • Bad Naruto! (smacks him on nose with newspaper)

  • Naruto tries to open the Earth Scroll

The episode starts off with Naruto doing a Shadow Clone Jutsu and jumps in the river to get fish. Sasuke then throws kunai at the fish. Anyhow, Team 7 eat some fish and Sasuke goes to get some water and Naruto and Sakura talk (no, not about being bf and gf). Sakura and Naruto are talking about opening the Earth Scroll so that they can decipher a code to forge the Heaven Scroll using one of Naruto's many scrolls. When Naruto tries to open the scroll, Kabuto stops him and tells everyone that the scrolls have a Jutsu that knocks you out until the exam ends.

Kabuto and Team 7 then head towards the tower and then they are surrounded by enemy clones!
  • This episode has a moral.

    9.1
This episode has a moral for those who break the rules. Naruto was told at the beggining of the Chunnin Exams that he shouldn't open the sacred scroll. He does the believable, and opens the scroll. What's inside the scroll you wouldn't want to know; trust me. But if you do, let's just say you can say goodbye to life as you know it. Naruto's lucky, If Kabuto wasn't there, Naruto and Sakura would be dead just like those other Genin Ninjas!
  • That Naruto, tsk tsk.

With only 24 hours left, Naruto suggests to Sakura they cheat by making a duplicate of the Heaven scroll. Another team was doing the exact same thing, and once they opened it, they were met with a sleep inducing scroll that'll make them sleep until the exam is finished. Kabuto stopped Naruto and Sakura from suffering the same fate. He tells them he wants to help them in their journey, and informs them of a place where they can get their scroll. They head into the area near the tower, and stealthy manuever around the forest, while looking for opponents to steal the scroll from. The smart Kabuto realizes that they've been walking in circles thanks to an illusionary technique. The enemy finally reveals themselves.

There was a lot of thought process and some psychological elements incorporated in this episode, which is most of the time, a very intriguing viewing. Though the problem with this episode is that the whole nonsensical "opening of the forbidden seal" part took a chunk of time, in fact the entire first half, which was not good at all. It didn't feel necessary to take up ten minutes for something like that, so the episode is lacking a little. Though the second half was much better that did a good job of setting up small devices in the beginning to build up to the end. Naruto's centipede that he killed was the factor that made everyone realize they were set up in an illusionary technique, and Kabuto's thought process of where and what to expect was just brilliantly done and cleverly executed.
  • This episode was funny and now we know what happens if you open the scroll before youre supposed to.The gang and that guy with the glass fell into the trap of the collectors of scrolls and have to fight them.

    9.6
I liked this episode. I cant believe Naruto would be dumb enough to open the scroll and sakura desperate enough to let him do it. it was good in general but I wish it had even more action. That hypnosis jutsu or spell that is put on the scrolls is really smart but that makes me wonder what is inside the scrolls.
  • Whats in that scroll???

    8.2
In this episode Naruto and the team take a break.
Sakura explains that the team only has a day to get another scroll.
Sasuke goes to get some water. Naruto say's to Sakura that if they open the scroll they can see what’s in it so they can forge their own scroll.
Before they can open it a ninja appears and warns them not to open it, apparently he saw what happens to you when you open it.
He tries to help them in there search for a heaven scroll.

He tells them to ambush a team at the tower. But it seems someone was following them. Will Naruto save the day or will Sasuke be the hero again??

But I wonder why he is helping them if in this test their all enemies.
  • A filler in which Naruto is very tempted to open the scroll, despit warnings from test administrators.

    8.0
It was a slightly disappointing episode until the very end, where there was some action and suspense. It began with Naruto and Sasuke fishing for breakfast, and Naruto getting angry because he felt snubbed by Sasuke. No surprise there. It was relatively quiet, with Sakura voicing the depessing thought that perhaps they were the last people left in the forest. Sasuke leaves to get water, and Naruto wants to open the scroll.

Meanwhile, a same team is doing the same thing, except they do open it. They become knocked out. That was interesting, because it drew intrigue as to what would happen to Naruto and Sakura.

Just as they were about to open it, Kabuto comes and stops them. That too, was interesting, as Kabuto was no particular ally of theirs. Kabuto tells them the best way to find a scroll, and they follow his advice. Unfortunately, they end up walking into a trap.

This episode was definately a filler episode, as most of it was them eating breakfast and being tempted to open the scroll. It was a decent episode. Though it lacked in action, it was a prelude to the next episode more than anything else, which will hopefully be better.
