      • Nash: Well, now I know why you weren't at your place.
Caitlin (laughs): You were there? Well, now I know why you weren't here.
Nash (hands her flowers): Oh, uh, these are for you. Smell these. (smells the flowers) Ah, they're beautiful.
Caitlin (smells the flowers): Thank you.
Nash (smiles and brushes off Caitlin's nose): You got pollen on your nose.
Caitlin (smiles): What are they for?
Nash: I just felt like getting your flowers. What are you doing here?
Caitlin: I just felt like seeing you.
Nash: I love you, Caitlin Cross. You can't believe how hard I fought against telling you that. But it's... It's how I feel.
Caitlin: I took the job. I leave for Boston the day after tomorrow to finalize the details.
        Nash: Oh. Congratulations.
Caitlin: It's the right thing for me to do, Nash.
        Nash: Great.
Caitlin (exhales): Oh. I gotta go.

      • (Nash is looking at where the SIU was)
Joe: Hey, bubba. So what are we lookin' at here?
Nash: Oh, I don't know. The past. The future.
Joe: Can you be a little more vague?
Nash (laughs): Really. I am going to make one change.
Joe: Oh, what would that change be?
Nash: Something that I should've done a while ago. (gets in his car)
Joe: Nah, I don't think I'll come along then.

      • Joe: Just our luck. The weather's finally starting to warm up and we won't be here to enjoy it.
        Nash: What do you mean?
Joe: Come on, man. We've got Banks' daughter. We saved her from her loser boyfriend, Banks owes us.
Nash: Nah. I'm not playin' that card.
Joe: You think he's playing fair?
Nash: Joe, I got a problem playin' people with poker chips. (Banks pulls up) Oh, speak of the devil.
Joe: He's not only a bad cop, he's a bad driver.
Banks: You son of a bitch. How dare you pull this on my daughter.
Nash: I'm thinking that you better dial it down a bit there, bubba.
Banks: You think that you can manipulate me by pursuing criminal charges against my daughter?
Joe: Hey, we saved your daughter, moron.
Banks: You've just made me more determined than ever to bury you. Both of you.
Joe: I suppose a sincere 'thank you' is out of the order. (Banks walks away)
Nash: Bubba, this is what you'd call one of those no win situations.

      • (Nash is driving along side Caitlin who's walking)
Nash: I see you're going my way.
Caitlin: Yeah. You offering me a lift?
Nash: No, I'm offering you a cup of coffee.
Caitlin: Well, I was thinking that a cup of coffee sounded good right about now, so.
        Nash: Get in.
Caitlin: Uh, wait a second. You can't park here. It's a no parking zone. (Nash glares, she gets in the 'cuda) Okay. It's a no parking zone.
Nash: Ah, we'll flip to get to see who gets to write me the ticket. (hands her a cup of coffee) To life on the streets. ... Can I ask you a personal question?
Caitlin: I don't know. How personal?
Nash: What are you obsessing over? Let's start there.
Caitlin: I've been offered a job.
        Nash: Where?
        Caitlin: Boston.
Nash: That would be on the East coast, correct?
Caitlin: Yeah, yeah. Last time I checked. It's a supervisory position with the DEA, so...
Nash: What are you gonna do?
Caitlin: Well, you know, with the nightmare of our whole situation and uh... (looks at Nash) I have nothing really keeping me here. Right?
Joe (pulls up, alongside Nash's car): Hey, Nashman, we need to talk.
        Nash: How'd you find me?
        Joe: Through her office.

      • Nash: What'd I miss?
Harvey: The Green Acres segment. That was one of Jimmy Brasher's guard pigs.
Nash (laughs): Who is this guy? What is it like, Deliverance?

      • Nick: You want to talk about it?
        Nash: What?
Nick: Whatever it is that's bothering you.
Nash: They've shut down the SIU, permanently so they say. I think it might be a sign, Nick.
        Nick: Sign of what?
Nash (sighs): I don't know. Been doing this job a long time.
        Nick: You still love it.
Nash: The cop work, yeah. But the politics? I could walk away from that in a second.
Nick: Everything runs it's course. I can understand if you wanna leave. I don't think that you've got a wrong choice here, son.
Nash: Maybe not for me. I just wanna be careful that I don't hurt those around me.

      • Nash: We're here. What do you want?
Banks: Well, based on Inspector Cross' report, the department is changing the way it administers cases. The police commission has decided to fold SIU responsibilities into other divisions, permanently. So that's it, you've had your run, it's over.
Joe: Man, you should hear yourself. It's a joke.
        Nash: What are our reassignments?
Banks: Well, for you, Captain, I'm afraid all I could find was a Lieutenant grade job in administration.
Nash: Off the streets, huh? What a coincidence. I'm in your way, aren't I, Banks? Why don't you just say it? You want me to quit.
Banks: Okay. I want you to quit.

      • Nash: Better than sitting behind a desk, isn't it?
Caitlin: Well, it all depends on who's desk that you're sitting behind. I kind of miss sitting behind yours. Nash, I'm so sorry. I had no idea that Banks would pull this.
        Nash: No need to explain.
Caitlin: Yeah. Yeah, I do. I was naive, I didn't factor in the politics. My dad, the master politician, you know, I grew up trying not to make the same mistakes that he did and I end up making the opposite ones.
Nash: Like I said, you don't have to explain. It's alright.

      • Nash: Now, Phil, this is just speculation on my part, mind you, but I'm gonna say that you ran 'cause you didn't want to talk to us.

      • Nash: Bubba, did you know that the Chinese character for the word 'crisis' is the same as for the word 'opportunity'?
        Joe: Alright. What's the opportunity?
Nash: I don't know. Getting back to basics, basic cop work, fresh air. I don't know, man. Like the old days.
Joe: Notice how you didn't say the good old days?
Nash: I'm gonna be honest with 'ya, Joe. Maybe this whole thing is about destiny. Maybe it's time for us to do somethin' else.
Joe: What else we gonna do?
Nash: Beats the hell outta me. I've just been rethinkin' a lot of things lately.
Joe: Now you really got me worried.

      • Cassidy: Well, we're getting married. We've set the date. 2 and a half weeks.
        Nick: Wow, that's great.
Nash: Two and a half weeks, huh?
Cassidy: Yeah, I know it's soon but my friend Susan had reservations at the Mere Chapel in the bluff overlooking Drake's Bay and she had to cancel them last minute and move to New York. I love that chapel and I've always dreamed of getting married there.
Evan: I mean, I know it sounds kind of quick.
Cassidy: But if we do it now, I mean, who knows when we're gonna get the chapel and I called mom and she said that she could make it. And my semester ends in a week.
Nash: Well, it sounds like you got it all worked out, huh?
Cassidy: I know that you've had your reservations about this but it just feels like the right time. And the only thing that we're missing is your support.
        Nash: ... You got it.
        Nick: Congratulations.
Evan: Thanks. You won't be sorry, Nash.
        Nash: I know.

      • Nick: What's with the new look?
        Evan: I got reassigned. Traffic.
        Nick: Reassigned?
Nash: It's nothing for you to worry about, Nick.
Evan: Yeah and the captain insisted that I have a regulation haircut and regulation side burns. I mean, tell me this is temporary, Nash.
        Nash: It'll grow back.
        Evan: No, the job.
        Nash: It's temporary.

      • Evan: Hey, Harv. What's up?
Harvey: Hey, bruddah. Oh, wonderful haircut.
Evan: Oh, thanks. Thank you very much. What'd you get?
        Harvey: Homicide, of course.
Evan: They make you wear that suit?
Harvey: I can't believe it still fits. What'd 'ya get?
Evan: Traffic. Can you believe that? They gave me traffic.
        Harvey: It could be worse.
        Evan: Oh, really, Harv? How?
        Harvey: I'm thinkin', I'm thinkin'.
Evan: Yeah. I mean, I can't get demoted. I'm getting married.
Harvey: You set a date? (Evan smiles) Oh, bruddah, congrats.
Evan: Oh, thanks, thanks. Yeah, we're gonna tell Nash later. But I got another question for 'ya. Um, you wanna be my best man? (Harvey nods and they hug) And you know the key to being a great best man, don't you?
Harvey & Evan: Bachelor party! Yeah!

      • Joe: This sucks. I mean, I made Inspector precisely to get outta details like this.
Nash: Ah, I don't know. I kind of miss it. Center of the action, start of the game.
Joe: Bottom of the food chain. (sees Caitlin walking towards them) Oh, well, well, well. Came to gloat?
Caitlin: This is all your fault. Did you know I've been transferred to Vice? To Vice, Nash? Temporary suspension for improper fraternization with an investigatory subject. And don't even deny that this was part of your Machiavellian plan.
Nash: Now, how in that short-circuited little brain of yours did this become my fault?
Caitlin: You tried to win me over and influence my report. You know you did. Or, or try to brand me by association.
Nash: Oh, no, no, no. It's Banks who gets the Machiavellian award here.
Caitlin: You know what? Just stay away from me.
Nash: Stay outta my park, Cross, or I'll bust 'ya for soliciting. (Caitlin walks away)
Joe: What do you wanna do now?
Nash: Well, first we're gonna get some sun screen, then I think that we'll clean up this damn park.
Joe: You're enjoying this, aren't 'ya?
Nash (laughs): Back on the beat, bubba. Let's make the best of it.

      • Joe (after they get reassigned): I told you that she was gonna be trouble.
        Nash: Who?
Joe: Who? Caitlin double Cross that's who.
Nash: Well, it's a park. We'll pretend that we're on vacation.

      • Nash: What's the angle, Banks? What do you get outta this?
Banks: This isn't personal, Bridges. And you would do well to remember that. As to your reassignments, you'll be doing Civic Center park detail.
Joe: Park detail? That's a job for cops one year out of patrol.
Nash: That's exactly why he's doing it, Joe. But, it's nothing personal.

      • Harvey: So we've just lost the SIU and we've been reassigned?
        Nash: Apparently so.
Harvey: Nash, that's insane. How can they close us down? It makes-- (groans, about Skip) What should I do with this guy?
        Nash: Book him.
        Harvey: Where?

      • Nash: You call that tug and you tell 'em to bring my office back here right now, Banks.
Banks: I've evaluated Inspector Cross' report to the police commission and they've agreed with my recommendation. The SIU has been temporarily suspended pending the commission's final hearing next week.
        Joe: You can't do that.
Banks: As head of MCD, it's well within my purview and based on what's in that report it's certainly my duty.

      • Joe (as Skip is hanging on to a telephone line): Should I shoot him?
Nash: Not yet. Skip, I'm not gonna catch you if you fall. (the line breaks and Skip flies through a window) Awesome.

      • Joe (while chasing a suspect): Skip, if I have a heart attack my wife's gonna kick your ass!

      • Joe: Oh well, well, well.
Nash: Stay outta my park, Cross, or I'll bust ya for soliciting.
