      • J.J.: Sorry about burning down the bar, Dad. I mean, I'll find a way to pay her back even if it takes me my whole life time.
Joe: Look, look. Just stop apologizing, okay? Just stop.
J.J.: But I let you down. I mean, this is worse than the time I totaled your trans-am.
Joe: No, it wasn't. It was way worse when you totaled the trams-am. You know why it was worse? I just got off the phone with the insurance company. They're going to give me the entire replacement cost of the bar. I get back my whole investment plus 20 percent. You did me a favor, little man.
J.J.: That's excellent. Why are you talking so low?
Joe: Ahhh, ahem, I didn't exactly tell your mother the whole story.
J.J.: Well, what'd you tell her?
Joe: Well, I told her you helped me find a buyer for the bar.

      • Joe (about J.J): You know, I was thinking maybe I'd take him down to the bar and give him something to do down there.
        Inger: I don't think that's such a great idea.
Joe: You're just mad because I mentioned the word 'bar.'
        Inger: I'm not mad, Joe.
Joe: You are mad. I can tell when you're mad. You get that cold Scandinavian look in your eyes. (Inger looks at him) Like that. It gives me an arctic chill.

      • Leo: Look, I'm sorry inspector. I come from tragic circumstances. I never knew my pops, he high tailed it before I was born. My mom's whacked out on crack, she's locked away in rehab. I've been through group homes, foster homes, Ronald McDonald houses, Welfare reform, reform school, no one's ever gave me guidence except for the crew on the street so sometimes I have a problem telling right from wrong.
Nash: Let me ask you somethin'. How long did it take you to learn that little speech?
        Leo: That's cold, man.

      • (Nash and Joe are in the 'Cuda driving around with Leo in the back)
Leo: Hey, can I drive this car?
        Nash & Joe (firmly): No!
