  • Quotes

    • Nash: Scotty, it's over. You're not walking away this time, bubba.
Scotty: What this time any different?
Nash: Because this time, I'm the hitman and you're the target.

    • (On the stake-out, Evan overhears a girl's conversation)
Evan: Let me tell you somethin', Carson. I think this girl is, like, perfect for me. But the shame is that you don't believe in romance.
Bryn: Oh, I believe in romance, flowers, love poems. But I also believe in the constitutional right to privacy.
Evan: Tell me somethin', Bryn. Have you ever been, like, really in love?
Bryn: Oh, yeah, I have as a matter of fact. And you know what the really amazing thing is? We were actually in the same room together.
Evan: You see, you clearly don't know me, right. Like what I'm really about. You see me as like, this straight forward kind of guy. But let me tell you somethin', there's this passion, this hunger, y'know, I'm looking for a higher low.
Bryn: Wow, that's really Jane Austin of you. But you're playing with fire here.
Evan: Do you know what Oscar Wilde said?
      Bryn: No.
Evan: He said that the only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it.

    • Nash: Just like old times, huh, A.J?
      A.J: Except I'm your boss.
Nash: Ah, don't worry. I won't hold that against 'ya.

    • Evan: What did this guy do?
Bryn: Uh, he was a founding member of the Berekley four.
      Evan: Who?
Harvey: He enjoys making me feel old. Once upon a time there was a Vietnam war, and the Berekley four was a particularly violent anti-war group responsible for a slew of bombings in the city in the early '70s.
      Evan: Uh huh.
      Bryn: Thanks, Harv.
Evan: So you're my new stake-out partner?
Bryn: Yeah, my parents worst nightmare. I'll be living in sin with a police officer.

    • A.J: The chief specifically wanted Arthur to follow us around for a few days.
Nash: Us? You and me? You're going to work this personally? You sure you still know how to do this?
      A.J: I ain't that old, Nash.

    • Evan: (to Bryn Carson) The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it.
Playwright: (to Bryn Carson) ...You...are delightfully perverse...You are inspired.
