Sinking of the Kursk
The K-141 Kursk was a nuclear cruise missile submarine named after the Russian city "Kursk". On August 12, 2000, the Kursk sailed out to sea to perform an exercise of firing dummy torpedoes at Pyotr Velikiy. During the excercise an explosion occured and the Kursk sank.
