The last new episode to be aired, "The Clown" resolves no long-running storyline nor proves to be an especially nostalgic entry in the two-year-old series. Instead, the very gifted Stu Erwin is cast as a professional clown, down on his luck as the day of the small family circus has reached an end. He winds up leading a hobo existence, and is found by the Browns in an abandoned railroad car on their farm property, where the railroad once had a right-of-way. The efforts of Herbert Brown (Arthur Space) and Velvet (Lori Martin) to assist the old clown make this a well-acted and enjoyable episode, if not an especially fitting conclusion to the series.moreless
