With a script similar to those used on Maxwell and Abel's earlier series, "Lassie," this episode presents a serious situation which is well-played and well worked out. Billy Gage (Robert Crawford, Jr.) is a former neighbor and splendid young rider, for whom Mi (Jimmy McCallion) has been a father figure. An accident has left Billy blind, and filled with resentment toward the happy memories of earlier days. Each of the regulars in the cast exhibits compassion and understanding, but it is Velvet (Lori Martin) and Mi who find the way to help the boy come to grips with his situation and decide to go forth to lead a productive and happy life.moreless
