This was a very exciting episode that is based on the true story of Ensign Edward D. Jackson who struck a North Korean "booby trap", steel cables which were stung across the tops of several tall tree's which were on both sides of a river. While strafing some North Korean troops who were crossing the river in small boats, Ensign Jackson struck several of the cables which shattered the windshield of his Panther jet fighter into his face. This resulted in Jackson being blinded so that he had to be "talked" back to his carrier the USS Philippines Sea by "wingman" Daryle Crow. (Ensign Crow would later become a member of the Navy flight demostration team, the Blue Angles) There Ensign Jackson pulled off the impossible, the only successful carrier landing ever made by a blinded jet pilot.moreless
