  • Kobe Bryant and the Lakers take on the Celtics in a rematch of the 2008 Finals.

Lakers looked amazingly sharp and physical. After Kobe put up a spectacular game against the Suns, he carried over his usual legendary skills to the Celtics. Lakers controlled the game and then started to dominant well into the fourth quarter. Defense wins championships and Lakers played great defense overall.

Pau Gasol had a big game, Ron Artest had a big game, and even Andrew Bynum chipped a couple of points and rebounds.

The Lakers have not had it easy coming to the finals. They played a pretty physical Thunders team then beat up the Jazz and then beat up a high scoring Suns team by clamping down on defense.

This definitely isn't the same Lakers team that lost to Celtics two years ago. Lakers had something to prove as well as Kobe Bryant. Lakers also held Celtic threat Rajun Rondo, and kept Ray Allen from going off. Kobe went off for thirty, and the rest was history.

The game was anything but boring. The Celtics did make a brief run near the end, but when the Lakers come to play there's really no other team that can match up with them.

It's been another great for Lakers, and for Kobe yet another showing of why he's the best player in the game right now.
  • Game 1

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics are in the Finals this year. It feels like we are in a time machine going back to the 1980's. There is a lot of history there and a lot of pride on the line.

But the game was a bit boring, and I expected it to be this way. With teams like the Thunder and the Hawks, and even the Nuggets, playing different kinds of basketball, it is a bit of a letdown to see these two purist, traditional teams competing for the Championship.

No doubt this will get huge ratings, but I honestly wanted to see a different matchup.
