  • Boston goes down, but so does Dallas.

    8.2
The Celtics blew a lead that I believe grew up to 16 or 17, (somewhere around there) when Orlando came storming back in the fourth quarter, and broke the hearts of the Boston Celtics, their coaches, and fans, (which doesn't include me!) as Rashard Lewis drove and nailed an open lay-up with less than five seconds to go. Ultimately, Rasheed Wallace (I always get Rashard & Rasheed's name confused when the Magic play the Celtics) missed a fade-away three-pointer at the buzzer, coming out of a timeout. The Orlando Magic won, 96-94.

In the second game of the doubleheader, the Dallas Mavericks, my favorite team, were on the road in Phoenix to take on former-Mav Steve Nash and the rest of the Suns. The Mavs got off to a good start, and led by double-digits early in the second quarter. But they were unable to hold on to a lead for the full 48 minutes, and a poor second half led to Phoenix coming back to defeat Dallas by six points: 112-106. Unfortunately for me and all other Mavs fans, this loss was the first of a three-game losing streak for Dallas.moreless
  • Two thrillers.

    7.5
Boston Celtics vs. Orlando Magic: This was a huge matchup for the Eastern Conference. The Celtics now have Kevin Garnett back, so they should have won, right? Wrong. The Orlando Magic proved that they can hang with anybody in the East with this win. People have been saying the Magic are not the same without Turkoglu, and while Vince Carter is not the same, this team right now has so many offensive threats that I would not be surprised if they returned to the Finals again this year. They are that good.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns: Finally, the streak is over! After 19 straight losses on TNT the Suns captured a much-needed win over rival Dallas Mavericks in a thriller.moreless
