  • The Cavs come back, and the Nuggets try to sweep the season series with Golden State.

The Cavaliers haven't been playing their best basketball since the All-Star Break, and it showed in the first half of the Thursday, TNT matchup with the Boston Celtics on the road. Boston led by as many as thirteen points in the first half, and led by eight, 56-48 at halftime. Things would change in the second half, though, where the Cavaliers outscored the Celtics, 60-32. But still, the Celtics led by one after three quarters, 74-73. Cleveland would explode in the fourth quarter by outscoring Boston by twenty-one points, 35-14. LeBron James had 36 points, and Mo Williams had 19, (fifteen in the fourth quarter) and hit five of nine from distance, as the Cavaliers turned a 42-29 deficit into a 108-88 blowout win over conference rival Celtics. Gotta love to see Boston lose, especially by a margin of twenty points! In the late game, Denver travelled to Oakland, California to take on the Golden State Warriors, in attempt to sweep the season series. And well, they succeeded. When they score 110 points coming into the game, they are 22-0. Against the Warriors, they scored 127, and won, 127-112. They never really dominated any quarter, but they outscored Golden State in all of them. (29-21, 36-35, 33-31, and 29-25) Chauncey Billups scored 37 points, Carmelo Anthony had 27, and J.R. Smith had 25, including 7 of the team's 16 three-point makes. The rookie, S. Curry had 30 points in the loss. Really, I don't take much interest in games among Northwest Divison teams, but I would of been appreciative if the Warriors had won, so my team, the Dallas Mavericks, could continue to get closer behind the Nuggets in the playoff race.
