The New Jersey Nets actually competed with the Los Angeles Lakers for two quarters. In the first half they hustled, they showed energy, they made smart decisions. And then in the second half the best team in basketball took over. The Los Angeles Lakers disposed of the Nets by 19 points, pretty much what most people expected them to do. Chris Douglas-Roberts hurt his ankle and went out, and Brook Lopez and Devin Harris became ineffective in the final two frames, leading to the loss.
