This was an episode that had so much potential starting with the scene with Sam in the bus and some people came in and threatened to shoot everyone if they don't find Matt Driscoll and it turned out to be Sam using that name When it went to six hours before that it just lost its potential and it just wasn't the direction I expected the episode to go and I didn't enjoy it.moreless

"Archangel" is a very interesting episode of NCIS: Los Angeles. They probably wrote this before the WikiLeaks incident, but what perfect timing they had as we had an issue with classified documents falling into the wrong hands here today, the perfect setup for an action-packed edition of NCIS: Los Angeles.

The premise was good, and while the plot got a bit lost in translation as the hour progressed, this was still a very good edition of the sophomore series.

Definitely recommend watching this episode if you are on the fence about it. Some good banter, some good action, what more could you want?moreless
  • Quite simply a terrible episode, when you compare it to the rest of the season. This one drove me halfway to sleep.

Well, aside from the explosive and nerve-wracking start to this episode, the rest of it was pretty much a letdown. Reading the previews, I was really expecting this to be a very interesting episode, but I don't think that this was the case.

There was way too much chatter and very little action. The only suspense was the fact that Sam Hanna appeared to be shot for a majority of the episode.

I think the case got little too complicated at times. I thought a blog site with a leak of top-secret information would make for an explosive episode, but in hindsight, this one was anything but.

I do have to give full markes, however, to the comedy aspect, in terms of the rockclimbing challenge between Callen and Hetty. Great to see that they carried that little storyline over from the previous episode.

I hope NCIS: LA picks up the pace next wekk, because we have had so many great episodes within this season. However, I don't classify 'Archangel' as one of thiose episodes.

I wouldn't recommend this one too highly, and in my opinion, 'Black Widow', 'Little Angels' and 'Anonymous' remain the cream of the crop for this season, although there are other great ones.

Overall, I would say I'm disappointed by this one.moreless
  • Some writer has issues with wikileaks and "killed" Julian Assange.

So I noticed this is the second episode that focuses on how bad and dangerous it is to release secret documents.

I would comment on this topic more - on how wrong it is for a TV show to screw with the heads of their viewers and make them believe releasing information to the public is the enemy - but I guess that would take too long.

Anyway, NCIS:LA usually uses some terrorist plot for their episodes which I enjoy because they are far enough away from reality to not be taken seriously.

In my opinion they went too far by using something that happened just recently without changing the important facts.

The only good thing about this episode is when Hetty and Callen are on the climbing wall.moreless

Deeks: Can you get me free cable? (Hetty stares at him) No, because that would be piracy.
