When marines are kidnapped and murdered along the US-Mexico border the NCIS team originally think they are drug cartels but they turn out to be was some good moments between Kensi and Deeks and overall an ok episode.

LL Cool J used to be a respected gangsta rapper and yet he came off as embarrassing in his attempt to be "street" in tonight's episode. Nevertheless, a decent enough episode overall here that featured a lot of action and some of that signature NCIS banter that we have come to expect from this program and its predecessor.

I am still against Eric Christian Olsen appearing on this show as a regular, but the scenes with Kensi and Deeks in the desert were definitely enjoyable. Not exactly DiNozzo and Ziva chemistry quite yet, but maybe they can get there one day.moreless
  • I must admit, put Kensi and Deeks in a desert away from the rest of civilisation is a great idea and pure genius! Interesting episode!

While I don't think that this episode was as good as some episodes in the past, and it is probably not as good as the other episodes from this season, it was still a terrific episode, made sensational by the amount of action scenes we had, particularly at the end!

The comedy sinde of things wasn't tarnished either, with some terrific scenes between Marty Deeks and Kensi Blye in the desrt, while they were biking! As the previous reviewer stated, not exactly Tony and Ziva, but they do certainly have potential, and I can see this developing into a great relationship!

Keep it up guys! The show has a great formula, and if you add the corrcet ingredients (like extreme action scenes and sticking Kensi in a desert) it can continue to be a success!moreless

    • Goof: When Kensi and Deeks were following the the GPS in the desert, she said that they needed to follow Route 77 to 78, which would go to Arizona. State Route 77 is now SR 185 near Oakland; and SR 78 ends far from the Arizona border, far north of the Mexican border.

    • Callen tells Nate to about a contact in Zarnegar Park, which is in Kabul, Afghanistan.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Deeks: So you guys were close then?
Kensi: Very. Best friends. What about you and your dad?
Deeks: Yeah. Not so much. In fact, I'm pretty sure he hates me.
Kensi: Why would you say that?
Deeks: Because the last time he saw me, he said "Marty, I hate you."
Kensi: (stammering) Well, even people who love us say things in anger they don't really mean.
Deeks: Yeah. Then he fired a shotgun at me. (chuckles) Man, I hate Thanksgiving. Although that was six years ago, miserable bastard could be dead by now.

    • Callen: I'm all for going green, reducing our footprints, but if Hetty has her way we're going to be reusing our bullets.
Sam: She just wants us to recover our brass, if possible.
Callen: Reusable water bottles, no more paper towels, no more paper cups, what's next to go?
      Sam: Saving the planet, G.
Callen: Don't come whining to me when she replaces our toilet paper with used post its.

    • (Deeks doesn't want to go into the desert and wants Sam to go instead)
Deeks: You are African-American and Africa is hot.
      Sam: I'm from Brooklyn, Huckleberry.

    • Kensi: Ready to go for a little ride. (Deeks smirks) On the bikes, Deeks, on the bikes.
      Deeks: I didn't say anything.

    • Callen: What's the safe word?
      Sam: Headlock.
Callen: Really? Use headlock in a sentence.
Sam: I wasn't planning on using it.

    • Hetty: (To Nate as he leaves) Keep you wits sharp, your heart open and your gun loaded.

    • Sam: (about Deeks) One of these days, I'm going to kill him.
Callen: Maybe he grows on you.
      Sam: So does Ringworm.
