  • The problem: camera work. Reason: Shaky cam. Reaction on the big screen TV: Nausea, disgust, annoyance, turn off

As an audience member who is fed up with the BAD camera work, I cannot recommend this episode. The hand held camera work is unwatchable. When I, a live human being, watch something I don't see a shaky image, I see a steady image even if I'm jarred. I possess a visual processing computer system that transcends any piece of photographic hardware existing by a huge margin. There is absolutely nothing endearing about shakycam, it's a fad that's being overused by individuals without a scrap of real creativity. It works in very small doses where it can express chaos but when it's the entire visual presentation it's just visual noise. And like most other noise, I tune it out...or turn it off.

It is my personal opinion that the audience, knowing that film maker wants to keep them engaged in the story, has every reason to put their hand up and say 'I can't engage with your story when you shake the camera so much I can't see a damn thing.'moreless
  • Definitely an amazing episode! This show's developing nicely, in my opinion!

Another episode I highly enjoyed was packed with great suspense, awsome undercover work and some great moments!

Kensi, my faovorite character in the show, was amazing every episode, an d this one in particular. Nice to see her getting a little more camera time, and I really would love to see more of this aspect of the show!

The case was interesting. Not NCIS quality, of course, but the show is still very interesting. I think it is heading down the right track and will be a great show on its own!

Overall, a great episode! I'm loving this show, particularly certain few of the last episodes. LD50, The Bank Job, Random On Purpose, Ambush and this episode stand out! Keep it up, NCIS: LA!!!moreless
  • fame

20 episodes in and NCIS: Los Angeles is starting to find its groove. Each episode is high on action and the dialogue is just as witty as the original NCIS.

I hope that this is the beginning of the end of the liason/new agents. Eric Olsen is an unlikable actor and there is just no need to make a change in the cast so early in the show's run.

My only regret is that some of the storylines seem very similar week after week. How many Middle Eastern terrorists are there really in Los Angeles? This show would lead you to believe millions.moreless
  • The team go all Hollywood in order to solve a murder....

In this episode of NCIS LA, the following happens. When a navy officer is found dead, the team investigate. They soon learn that the car he was found in belongs to a local party girl. They go to see her, but find out that she is missing. They link her to a local club, and learn that the officer was there with her on the night that he died. And so Kensi, Callen and their new liaison officer all go undercover.

They are shocked to see the party girl, Aubrey there since they thought that she was dead. We soon learn that the person, who killed the officer, is a wanted man, who has been staying at Aubrey's house with her father. Kensi's life is put in danger, but luckily Callen and co manage to get there before she is killed. But only just.moreless

    • (Sam walks into the office and finds Deeks sitting at Dom's desk)
Sam: The desk is taken, Deeks, you can't sit there.
Hetty: Mr. Hanna, I asked Detective Deeks to sit there. I did it politely. Detective Deeks has been approved as our LAPD liaison; filling a chair that although taken has been vacant for some time.
      Callen: Welcome aboard, Deeks.
Sam: So, you're sort of a temp.

    • Kensi: Time to do you liaison thing.
Deeks: Yeah, about that liaison thing.
Callen: (walks up to the car window) What's the wait…. Car's coming up.
      Kensi: He doesn't want to.
      Sam: Doesn't want to what?
      Kensi: Liaise.
Sam: Is that even a word?
      Deeks: Yes, a liaison liaises.
Callen: Well, maybe you could demonstrate.

    • Deeks: You know how it is with undercover cops; I've pissed off more than my fair share of shields.
Sam: Then why did they choose you as our liaison?
      Deeks: Hetty's request.

    • (Hetty and Callen, in the clothes room)
Callen: Deeks talked you into handing over a card with a fifty-thousand-dollar limit? Really?
Hetty: (looking over shirts) Do you remember Rio? That Vicuna suit you wore? Cost ten grand.
      Callen: Cops hate Deeks.
Hetty: In Miami, you nearly scuttled a Feretti yacht of an Omani Prince...ooh! (admires one of her choices)
Callen: He's a lousy liaison, and yet...I get the sense he isn't temporary.
Hetty: The repairs alone cost more than the limit on that credit card.
Callen: Hetty, I'm not complaining that you gave him the money.
Hetty: How could you, Mr. Callen? I gave you the card.
Callen: (coming to realization) You don't want him as a liaison. You want him as an agent.
Hetty: (smiling patiently) If they play Lady Gaga tonight, dance one for me, would you?

    • Callen: Hetty cut a side deal with you, didn't she? That's how you got the card.
      Deeks: Yeah.
Callen: So, what's the limit, fifteen? (Deeks shrugs) Ten? (Deeks shrugs again) Come on, five? I'm supposed to look like I can spend fifty and you're on the hook after five?
Deeks: (Protesting) She threatened me with a letter opener!
Callen: I guess some people got to learn the hard way.
      Deeks: Why...What are you...
Callen: (gestures to waitress) We'll take two more bottles.

    • (Callen returns the credit card to Hetty)
Callen: I haven't seen the bill, but if it's over five grand, go easy on him.
Hetty: Why? The cops hate Deeks. He's a lousy liaison.
Callen: It's not what you wanted him for. You do your homework, don't you? On choosing agents. (Hetty stares at him) Deeks didn't end up in this building because we needed some LAPD liaison; you've been watching him for a while.
Hetty: There is value in being patient.
Callen: So, how long did you watch me before I joined NCIS? When did G. Callen become a blip on your radar? (Hetty stands up) Was it Kiev? Bogotá? Come on; don't tell me it was, uh, Jersey City.
      Hetty: Peking.
      Callen: You mean Beijing?
Hetty: (Holds up canister) Tea, Mr. Callen.
Callen: It was Jersey City, wasn't it?
