what happened to the character of Lara Macy played by Louise Lombard ? She seemed like a good fit coming over from CSI

We know that her character was tossed out by the producers/writers because of a bad reception in the back-door pilot...

but they never mentioned here in 1x01...did they?

what is the answer in the storyline?

I have a silly question, what is Hetty's (Linda Hunt) job title. She seems to be a little all over the place, during the first episode she seemed to be the account manager, but now I'm not so sure. All I could think of is she is LA's version of Ducky.

this ones about last night's episode (1x02 - "The only easy day") the actor playing Holgate (sp?), the SEAL leader guy, has played a SEAL in a regular episode of NCIS (first season, one of the later episodes). Is it the same character, or the same actor playing a different character?

edit: okay I checked the cast list for both episodes

the actor is called Matt Battaglia

in NCIS 1x22 he played the character Porcaro, in LA he played Holgate. so it's not the same character (unless he married and change names)

Will the "Office of Special Projects" actually be taking on special projects or will it be investigating stuff that has nothing whatsoever to do with specialised projects like drug deals, kidnapped little girls and other such "normal" stuff which Gibb's team should be looking into?

Was "Office of Special Projects" just a stupid flashy title that has nothing whatsoever to do with the things they'll write into the story each week, or will they actually be undertaking the execution of specilised, pre-planned, high level "Special Projects"?

Reminds me of that line in the movie Jurasic Park when they are taking the automated tour in the electric powered cars and animal pen after animal pen is empty... nothing to see on the tour and the Dr. Ian Malcom character moves to the center of the car he's in, looks squarely into the onboard closed circuit camera which the park founder and CEO is watching form his office and calmly says, "Now you ARE planning on having dinosaurs on this dinosaur tour aren't you?"

You ARE planning on investigating special projects on this show about a team called "Office of Special Projects" aren't you?

NCIS:LA starts here in the UK this week but I haven't seen the two hour backdoor pilot that was done on NCIS. Does that matter? Can I watch the show without having seen the NCIS eps?

Sorry I have not been answering the questions here: I don't usually have a single post for questions and when the creator of this post started it prior to me becoming the editor, I had thought they were going to be maintaining this topic.

Hetty is the Operations Manager. She manages everything from the equipment to the finances to the team itself. Just to note, Ducky on NCIS is the Corner. Yes, you can watch the first episode without seeing the backdoor pilot, but most of the characters were introduced in that pilot.

I have heard we may see Macy again, but not a regular basis.

In my opinion, you can watch this show without watching the NCIS episodes. "Legend I & II" (the NCIS episodes) probably introduced the characters better than this show did, but I think you would be fine not watching the NCIS episodes.

Thanks to both of you. I guess I'll start watching it then. I can always catch the backdoor pilot at some point if I feel the need.

How do we get the network to turn down the volumne on the back ground music- it is so loud that we can not hear the conversations of the actors. I have to mute the tvand read closed caption. It is so annoying I dont watch it anymore

This is not a direct line to anyone associated with the network or the show. This is just fans talking about their show.

I enjoy the show - just curious about wtf is up with Kenzie's eye? Most times it like she has one brown and one black, and then she looks over and the black eye has this crazy yellow cat eye look around it...is this a 'wardrobe malfunction' with her colored contacts - or some new disease/injury/exotic eye thing???

hmm that's interesting. I haven't noticed it, but I'll definitely be paying attention now. So, I have no idea if this is something TPTB planned but hasn't fully revealed, or if this is an accident.

Thank you for finding this! That is very interesting. I didn't know it was possible to have a birthmark in your eye.

Not being an aficianado of animated features, I am today seeing for the first time "The Incredibles." Hetty has got to be based on the character Edna "E" Mode (voice by film writer Brad Bird). The animated character even looks like Hetty.

I too think Hetty looks and acts like Edna Mode, however I don't know if this is where TPTB got their inspiration for the character or not.
