When a Marine falls from a rooftop club, the NCIS team is called in to investigate his death. They discover that he has been living a double life and they look for a motive to his murder.
  • Bleh, this one was boring.

I thhought this was the first majorly disappointing episode of the show, and I was highly disappointed by it. The storyline had interesting ideas, but the case was just boring after the first fifteen minutes.

The episode was also less funny than most the previous episodes, in my opinion, so I hated that aspect of it, as well. I did enjoy the use of Callen and Blye undercover, and that was quite interesting and perhaps the main plus side.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this episode highly, as it doesn't have that special factor than NCIS episodes or LA episodes so far have had. However, it is still decent and may be average and somewhat watchable.moreless
  • Good, but.

NCIS: Los Angeles is a good show; it is. It is definitely worth watching on a mostly dull Tuesday, a night mostly ignored by networks where fellow new CBS drama The Good Wife and ABC's new smash hit V are the only other worthy viewing candidates.

But it's just not THAT good, if that makes sense at all. You never get the feeling that this will be as dominant in the ratings as the original NCIS, or last 20 years like Law and Order, or have a massive cult following like Lost. It's just a good cop drama, nothing more, nothing less.moreless
  • A Marine Corporal is found dead after dropping from the top of a high rise apartment building. The police say suicide, but NCIS is brought in and figure out he was murdered. As they investigate the death a major counterfeiting ring is uncovered.moreless

A pretty solid episode with some nice storylines built in.

We have the Marines involved in some interesting dealing, buying Guitar Hero at retail and selling at half price. Paying 20K+ a week for Saturday night parties on top of the APEX building. Obviously living a lifestyle way beyond the pay of a Corporal in the Marines.

We have his partner faking his own death to get away. Then the discovery of the counterfeit hundreds. Nice string of events put together. Now we bring in the Secret Service Agent Natalie Giordano played by Monet Mazur and chemistry seems to fly between her and G. In a way she's a little too eager or maybe she knows what she wants and goes after it. There can be something very attractive about that.

I think the performances overall were quite good. Daniela Ruah really is doing a great job as Special Agent Kensi Blye. In this case she is right there with G and Sam on the front lines. The main bad guy was a little on the dumb side for being a master criminal and the Master Sergeant had to know they were going to get caught eventually. Maybe the stakes were too high for him to pass up. The real mistake was killing the first Marine. Most likely they would have stayed under the radar if they just reeled him back in instead of throwing him off that roof.

A pretty good episode with a nice clean storyline. Believable and with plenty of action. It seems like they can produce some pretty good episodes if they want too. Thanks for reading...moreless

    • Callen: Is this an argument? Sam: No, it's a difference of opinion. I happen to be right and you happen to be wrong. Callen: Which makes it an argument. And for the record, I'm right and you're wrong. Sam: Operators are made their not born, G. Skills are taught. Callen: And somebody taught Lebron how to dunk from the free throw line? Sam: Seals learn to be seals, G. Callen: Oh, that's right, you couldn't swim when you enlisted, could you? How long did they let you wear the floaties? Look, I will take a lazy natural operator over an all night studier any day of the week. Sam: It's too late, I already did it. (Hetty walks up) Hetty: Nature versus nurture, quite the conundrum. Callen: You can not use the word conundrum before 9:30, Hetty Hetty: (Looks at her watch) 9:31, Mr. Callen, which means that your late, so are you Mr. Hanna.

    • (Sam and Callen arrive at the scene where the police are pulling a car out of the water) Callen: You're diving in right? Sam: Police divers can handle it Callen: Yeah, but you're a seal. Sam: You've been looking a little pale, maybe you should go Callen: uh-uh, two many bullet holes in me, Sam, I'd sink.

    • (Discussing Agent Giordano) Callen: I don't date law enforcement. Sam: I think you might want to make an exception this time. Callen: Sam, you know the rule, if they've got their own handcuffs, I'm out.

    • (Dom and Eric looking at busty woman on surveillance video) Dom: Whoa! Eric: Hel-lo! Hetty: If only your vocabularies could be augmented as much. (walks away) Dom: Busted.

    • Hetty: Take her out to dinner. After the case is over. Callen: Agent Giordano? Hetty: Hmm and take Sam the next night, you know how he gets.
