Wouldn't it be awesome if the person who schedules the NCIS LOS ANGELES re aired programs would at least do them in date order. You know like from the beginning all the way to the end and then start over. I have to keep a spreadsheet to tell if I have watched it already. Just sayin. Also, to the comments connected to the ratings of the cast. I really think it takes everyone of them to pull this off. Hetty is the boss and if you have every been a supervisor, you can really enjoy the way she gets what she wants done and I love her glint in her eyes when she pulls something over on them and they never know. Sam and Callen get the job done. Can't imagine the show without them. As for Deeks and Kinsey. I can't see what Deeks see in Kinsey. It is like she just doesn't get the game. I don't know why Deeks bothers. And as for Eric and Nell. Let's face it. They are the GPS for the team. Yes. I'm glad they are all coming back. Hope Deeks gets himself a girl friend that appreciates him. He is a doll.moreless

A solid episode for NCIS:LA, and for LL Cool J. Normally I can complain a bit about LL's overacting, but this episode was pretty good, and he conveyed how much the case was affecting Sam very well. I also appreciated that they took into account how serious the case was and how much the situation was affecting Sam, which the other characters could obviously see, and kept all (most) of the humor of this episode for before the case, and after the conclusion of it.

My few complaints are Kensi's bladder comment, which just seemed completely out of place for that scene. And that Eric estimated 9 hours of oxygen left for Amanda. Really? I know that they need that amount of time so that they can set up a case in the episode, but with all of the "buried alive" episodes I've seen on various shows I'm sure they could have come up with a better situation because I have no doubt that there was not nearly that amount of time left for her.moreless
  • A case brings back bad memories for Sam

When a teenager is kidnapped and buried alive the NCIS team have to act fast because she is buried underground and she will soon run out of case brought horrible memories back for Sam who remembered when he was buried alive and left to die Sam was able to escpae but his friend died

At the end I was surprised to see it was the two sons who kidnapped her but the team was able to rescue her in time just when there time was about to run out.

Great, great episode of NCIS: Los Angeles tonight, showing why this program can be one of the best on TV when it gets a good storyline. You had a very entertaining plot here, similar to that of the Ryan Reynolds movie Buried, you had David Hayward from All My Children playing another villainous role, you had a good backstory into the life of Sam Hannah, it was the perfect mix you could ask for from an episode of this show.

Fast-paced, action-packed, dramatic, all adjectives you could use to describe tonight's super stellar episode of NCIS: Los Angeles. Definitely one of the best so far in the show's short history.moreless
  • The daughter of the head of Naval Cyber Intelligence is abducted and a video is sent showing her being buried alive. This triggers painful memories for Agent Sam Hanna, and the case may be related to another case where 3 other girls were buried alive.moreless

This was a good episode that kept you guessing who was responsible for the abduction. The clock was ticking, as they had to find her before she suffocated. We learn that Agent Sam Hanna had been buried alive as a Navy Seal while stationed in Bosnia. He survived, but seeing the video of the current victim made this a personal crusade to save her. Suspicion falls on the brother of a man who was convicted and in jail for previous abductions. Perhaps they had convicted the wrong brother? I think that they are fiddling with the formula, adjusting the mix of people on the team, one guy is conspicuous by his absence, and Tech Operator Eric Beal seems to have a new assistant. She is another shortie, a little taller than Hettie Lang, the group's leader, and she is also very competitive with Eric. They vie to see who is the biggest geek, the fastest hacker, and the nerdiest nerd. I like her and am hoping that she will become more prominent in future episodes. Special Agent Kensi Blye is a nice character who reminds me a bit of Sandra Bullock in looks and comic timing. Yes, there is a humor component to NCIS:LA, just as there was in the original NCIS. There is a good match with the main stars, Chris O'Donnell, who by the way, is not a warlock, and LL Cool J as Special Agents G. Callen and Sam Hanna, respectively. They are good as action heros, delivering the punches, but can also deliver the punch lines. At first I thought that Hettie Lange was just too far beyond the pale to be believed. But with the current mix of team members, I am starting to enjoy her character more and more. The same goes for LAPD Detective Marty Deeks, who seemed an awkward addition at first, but now it seems like they have achieved a very good blend of characters, and I can see this show gaining a huge following like the one for NCIS.

I really liked it when Hettie made a Lady Gaga reference, saying "That would be like saying Lady Gaga was just a singer." LAPD Detective Marty Deeks quiped, "So, you're still loving the Gaga." To which Hettie responded that "I will always love the Gaga."

Later, when Callen tells Hanna that he thinks he was sitting in poison oak, and therefore is reluctant to 'hug it out' Hettie enters with some Calamine Lotion and rubber gloves to apply it to Hanna. She then makes a funny Oliver North reference. From Lady Gaga to Oliver North, Hettie is full of surprises, and it is fun to watch as episode by episode, her extensive back story is revealed.moreless

    • Callen: You're really afraid of clowns.
      Sam: Yeah.
Callen: What kind of clowns are we talking about?
Kensi: Clowns like Deeks? Or clowns like, uh...
Sam: No, real clowns. Orange hair. Fat-toed shoes.
Callen: So, we bust in on some terrorists, they pop on a red nose, and you're gonna freeze up on me?
Sam: I reveal a vulnerable part of myself, and you mock me?
      Callen: Hell, yeah.
