  • Great storyline, great team bonding, Deeks coming through nicely

Kenzie is finally loosening up a little bit and Deeks is solidifying his partnership with her. I'm normally a story-driven series lover, however the characters still need to mesh and click to make the stories progress. This series has taken a little while to convince me that these partnerships work, but this episode sealed the deal on the Kenzie/Deeks partnership.

I feel there should have been a bit more focus on how Kenzie was going to move on from watching that shooting come out of the blue, that was a different to normal hot blooded shoot-outs or even other cold blooded kills. I'm not sure a beer and a smoothie would be adequate therapy and with no Nate around, I'd like to make sure she's looked after. lolmoreless

"The Job" is another fun episode of NCIS: Los Angeles a show that this season feels as exciting as Burn Notice did during its second year. A Kensi-centric episode is never a bad idea, but this one was particularly good because of the amount of action and suspense it delivered, and the interesting villain they had her interact with. A good villain is the key to any successful episode of an action series and this one had one for sure.

I know a lot of people continue to sleep on this show, but in my book it is yet another strong episode of NCIS: LA.moreless
  • A great episode, but just not as good as some of the others.

    9.5
I really enjoyed the first scene of this episode. Once I saw that scene, the episode was quite promising. The team was really great in tthis episode, and Deeks is now finally truly becoming a member of this team, or so to speak.

The case was quite good, but there definitely have been better ones, such as 'Black Widow', 'Little Angels', 'Disorder', 'Lockup' and most recently 'Enemy Within' - last week's.

I enjoyed the storyline, but there was something missing which perevented me from giving a ten. It didn't have that special factor that keeps you hooked on. All up, though, no real criticism from me, because the qcase was good. I hope this high standard is maintained, and I can't wait to see what kind of cliffhanger they will give us at the end of hthis season!moreless

    • (Callen offers to buy Sam dinner)
Sam: Yup, I'm thinkin' a bone-in fillet, maybe a juicy porterhouse...
Callen: You're always trying to milk it.
Sam: Is it truffle season yet?
Callen: A couple ground rules here. No weird, expensive fungi. No eggs that don't come from a chicken. No Scotch that's older than you or me.
Sam: (grins) I can still order a seafood tower.

    • Callen: There was an earthquake last night?
Kensi: (stares at him in astonishment) Crack of dawn. Shook me right out of bed. You guys didn't feel it??
Callen: (shrugs) I was on a run.
      Sam: Deep sleeper.
Deeks: You forget I'm from Califor-ni-a. We don't get out of bed for anything less than a six.

    • Kensi: (handing out bags to everyone) These are your personalized survival kits.
      Deeks: What's in these things?
Callen: You brought us survival kits?
Sam: No offense, but survival kits are for urban sissies who don't know how to make a flotation device out of a pair of pants.
Callen: (pawing through his bag) Or how to extract the venom out of a horned viper using only a twig and a shoelace.
Deeks: (lifting a black pack out of his bag) Or how to make a latte without soy milk.

    • Stanley King: How'd you know the combination to my safe?
      Kensi: I didn't.
Stanley King: (incredulously) You cracked a two-lock entry system in seconds?...Where'd you learn to do that?
      Kensi: Misspent youth.
Eric: (watching from op center) Actually, I talked her through it.
Nell: Yeah. We never get the credit.
      Eric: Or the glamor.

    • Deeks: Why do bad guys always have such awesome houses?
Sam: What's the matter, Deeks? You're not feeling your loft?
Deeks: (gestures scornfully) This guy's got his own hobbit shire!

    • Deeks: I'm gonna be with you every step of the way. Even if you don't see me I'll be there.
Kensi: He caught me off guard once. It's not gonna happen again.
      Deeks: I know.
