Goof: When you freeze frame on Abby's letter she is sending, near the end it says "Naval Investigative Criminal Service" (NICS) when as we all know it's NCIS.

Goof: A top engineer, as the victim is described, would be an officer, not a Chief Petty Officer which is an enlisted man. Engineers require a college degree and people with college degrees in the military are officers.
It is established that Callen is the lead agent of the team.
Goof: Kensi extends her arm and checks to see if the dragon missile is in the bag. When the attacker starts choking her, her arm is still extended and she makes a "choking" expression on her face. However, if you go frame by frame you will see Kensi standing with no arm extension and you can see her face waiting to be "choked" again by the attacker. The second shot shows that the actors were doing a separate take from the previous shot.
Goof: The suspect attempted to strangle Kensi with a wire from behind, yet in later scenes, she has no red marks or bruising on her neck.
Goof: Kensi is surprised from behind and has an extended fight with the suspect, who pulls a knife on her. Yet she never pulls her gun out, which can be plainly seen in her rear waistband of her pants, after the fight is over. Only, the gun is not seen during the actual fight when you see her backside. Also, the suspect mentions she had a gun in a later scene.
Hetty insists on being called Miss instead of Ms., implying she is unmarried.
Goof: In the opening scene, the guy offers the girl in the white bikini some champagne, when he's done serving it the glass is almost full; however when he gives the glass to the girl the glass is half-full and in the next scene the glass is almost full again.
Goof: Nate notes that Callen has been in 37 different foster homes between the ages of 5 and 18 and that 3 months was his longest stay in one home. If you divide the 37 homes by 13 years that equals 2.8 homes a year, divide that by 12 months and it equals approximately 4 months per home.
The longest Callen stayed in any one foster home was with the Russian girls family (Alina). He learned Russian from her when she was four and he was fourteen.
When Callen returns to the home where he lived when he was 14 years old, he finds where he had carved his name in the closet door, with the date carved of "'83". That would mean that Callen is 40 years old.
Callen had been a DEA agent 10 years ago.
Goof: When the agents are interviewing the waitress, she states that the victim was there with Alex. But they don't ask any follow up questions such as last name or physical description. There is no way to confirm that this Alex was the same Alex as their victim.
Callen and Sam have been partners for almost 3 years.
Goof: When Callen and Sam arrive at the crime scene where the car is being towed out of the water the cop lets them pass the yellow crime tape without even asking for I.D.
