  • Lauren Holly

Director Jenny Shepard (Episodes 55-113, recurring previously)

    8.4
When Lauren Michael Holly was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania, in 1963, it seemed inevitable that the young girl would end up being a college professor or perhaps a teacher, but certainly not an actress. With both of her parents working as professors at esteemed Northeastern arts colleges, it seemed hard to believe that she would follow any other path. When she enrolled at the prestigious Sarah Lawrence College to pursue an Arts degree in English literature, it seemed as though the junior Holly was on track to follow the seniors. After graduating in 1985, Lauren made the risky decision to move to Los Angeles and pursue her dream of becoming an actress. It took a little less than a year of paying her dues before she landed a role on the soap opera, All My Children. After an extremely successful three-year run as Julie Rand Chandler, Lauren landed her first starring role as Betty Cooper in the feature length made-for-TV movie, Archie: To Riverdale and Back Again. Her small-screen projects helped her make a name for herself, and she was given the chance to prove her ability on the big screen in the Andrew Dice Clay cult-classic, The Adventures of Ford Fairlane. As with most cult classics, the film was far from a box-office smash. Rather than let the film force her into obscurity, Lauren returned to television in 1992 as Maxine Lacos on the critically acclaimed series, Picket Fences. With seven years of acting experience under her belt, Lauren was still waiting for her chance at a breakout role. In 1993, her prayers were answered as she was given the chance to play Linda Lee, wife of Bruce Lee, in the highly successful biopic, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. Her portrayal garnered her critical acclaim and granted her the luxury of finally being able to pick and choose her roles. One role she passed on was opposite a former TV comic in the slapstick comedy that later became, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. After she passed, Courteney Cox took her place and quickly became a star. The following year, when Lauren was given another chance to star opposite the upstart Canadian comic in the gross-out comedy, Dumb and Dumber, she jumped at the opportunity. The film was a box-office smash and grossed over $200 million worldwide, and has been by far her most successful project. It was on the set of this production that she fell in love with Jim Carrey, whom she eventually married in 1996 and in true Hollywood fashion, divorced one year later. Career wise, it seems as though Jim was her good luck charm. He was responsible for her most successful film, and while the two were dating she made Beautiful Girls and Sabrina, some of her more critically successful work. By late 1996, her marriage already starting to disintegrate, she appeared in the bombs Down Periscope and Turbulence. Since then, Lauren has found success by playing supporting roles in major movies like Any Given Sunday and What Women Want. She has also started to take on starring roles in low budget and more artistic productions. Lauren also returned home to television, with a recurring character on the hit drama Chicago Hope, and a starring role in the Women of Camelot miniseries. As for her personal life, Lauren remarried in March of 2001 to investment banker Francis Greco (no relation to Richard), and adopted a son in June of the same year. She is still acting and has two films scheduled for release in 2002; Colored Eggs, a film adaptation of a popular play, and Don't You Cry For Me, opposite Alan Arkin.moreless

    8.8
Sasha Alexander was born in 1975 in California and made a name for herself in the hit crime drama, NCIS.

After this set back she focused on acting which she took through high school and further education, after which she moved to New York. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California's School of Cinema and Television.
Notably, before she joined the NCIS team, she played Gretchen Witter on Dawson's Creek from 2000-2001. She also played Lucy in Yes Man in 2008 and starred as Catherine in He's Just Not That Into You in 2009. She is currently starring as Medical Examiner Maura Isles on Rizzoli and Isles on TNT. • Brian Thompson

    Master Chief Vince Nutter

    9.1
Born in 1962 in Ellensburg, Washington to two school teachers, Brian Thompson grew up in Longview, Washington on the Columbia River, the second of six children. As a young child, he was sickly, suffering a kidney-related ailment, and it wasn't until surgery corrected his condition that he began building the body that has come to demand the attention of his fans and Hollywood. He started acting in high school in 1977, winning the Mark Morris High School best supporting actor award. He continued the endeavor in college, while majoring in business management and minoring in construction. During the summers, he built docks and bridges and piers for a Portland construction company that had a job waiting for him when he graduated. But graduation day came in 1981 and the job offer went unanswered. Thompson decided to pursue acting. The University of California/Irvine awarded him a scholarship to its three-year masters of fine arts program, so he departed the northwest for California. While in school at UCI, he landed a job at Universal Studios where he played the villain in a live show of "Conan the Barbarian." He then secured an agent, and by the time he graduated earning a Masters of Fine Arts in Acting, he had already secured guest appearances in a few TV series and his first film job: a punk in "Terminator." Brian Thompson is known in Hollywood as one of the most versatile and diversified actors in the industry, and he knows what it takes to develop a quality production and what is good for his career. Originally, he had been approached to play the role of Daedalus in "Kindred: the Embraced," but he had little interest in playing yet another role in which he had to wear prostheses glued to his face. He declined unless the producers could come up with more money; they did, and then they offered him the role of Eddie Fiori. As for "Kindred: The Embraced," he jokes that his character Eddie Fiori was a "nice guy who did bad things," but he is serious about his disappointment and aggravation with the show's writing and general lack of creativity. He asked to be written out. His career spans all genres. He has taken on roles in musical comedies to serious dramas, and often surprises those who actually meet him, for besides having those distinctive muscles and chisled features, he has an incredible facility for language. It is apparent that acting is his passion and a vocation for which he is well suited. He understands acting; he can communicate what it is and what it means, and he teaches his craft at his alumni UCI where he was named UCI's Distinguished Alumni for the year 2000. In addition to pursuing his acting career and teaching at UCI, Thompson also runs an Actor's School in Oregon held on various campuses each year. Very much a family man, Thompson makes his home in Los Angeles with his wife Isabelle and their two children Jordan and Daphne. He plays piano, cares for a menagerie of pets with his kids, hones his skills in martial arts, and kite-surfs to stay in shape. He claims that he hasn't had to visit a gym since taking up the sport.moreless
