GOOF: Since Tony had contracted bubonic plague before, it seems unlikely that he would be allowed to donate blood.
TRIVIA: Ziva owns a Blackberry Pearl 9100 cellphone.
GOOF: Russian family names never end with an A for a male. Gorgova is OK for Adrianna but not for his father who should be named GORGOV.
GOOF: Adriana's visa photograph has her wearing glasses. This is prohibited in real life.
TRIVIA: As with many names and places in NCIS, the country of Belgravia is a fictional one made up for this episode. There are, however, various smaller districts and provinces named Belgravia around the world, most notably in Westminster, in London, England and Edmonton, in Alberta, Canada.
TRIVIA: Tony ran in the Boston Marathon in 1995.
(The team are in the squad room, discussing the defense treaty that has just been signed. Gibbs mentions that Adrianna has returned to Belgravia with her father)
Ziva: Wait. So she co-operates in her own kidnapping and then she gets off scotch-free?!
McGee: Scot.
Gibbs: Diplomatic immunity.
(In Abby's lab)
Abby: Come on, come on, come on!
McGee: I'm going as fast as I can here!
Abby: But I already called Gibbs.
McGee: Well, ya shouldn't have.
(The elevator dings in the background)
Abby: I'll stall him. (To Gibbs, who has just walked in) Hey, Gibbs!
Gibbs: Hey.
Abby: You got down here really, really fast.
Gibbs: Well, yeah. You said ya had something.
Abby: Yeah...right...erm...rice! Long grain rice!
(After a video conference in MTAC)
Director Vance: Nothing ever changes, does it Gibbs? Rules just don't apply to you, do they?
Gibbs: We were doing our job, Leon.
Director Vance: When were you going to tell me about the daughter?
Gibbs: Why'd you assume we screwed up? The girl was in on her own kidnapping, Leon. It couldn't have been prevented by anyone.
Director Vance: That's your theory, Gibbs! Do you have any proof?
(Palmer and Ducky are getting Flemming's body ready for transport back to NCIS)
Palmer: The FBI agents seem to be upset.
Ducky: From what I understand, it's a complicated situation.
Palmer: Are McGee and Tony still on "double secret probation?"
Ducky: We're pathologists, Mr Palmer. We deal in bodies, not gossip.
(Joe Wynn is being interrogated by Gibbs, who offers him a deal for information)
Wynn: So what can you do for me?
Gibbs: A case like yours is all about sentencing. You help me, I could talk to the judge.
Wynn: What do ya want?
Gibbs: Last week, there was an assassination attempt in Belgravia. We can link you to the bomb.
Wynn: I don't know what you're talking about.
(Gibbs gets up to leave)
Gibbs: Alright, you wanna play games, I'm outta here.
Wynn: Wait! Hey, hey. Hey, hey. Alright.
Gibbs: Who'd you make the bomb for?
Wynn: You can talk to the judge? You tell him I helped you, I can get a deal?
Gibbs: I've seen it before.
Wynn: Alright. This guy approached me a few months ago.
Gibbs: This guy a Belgravian?
Wynn: No, he was American. He paid me in cash.
Gibbs: What's his name?
Wynn: I don't know who this guy thought he was dealing with. He gave me a fake ID but I checked him out. He's a teacher at John Hamilton; he's a professor. His real name is Carl Flemming. (Gibbs turns to walk out the door)
So you're gonna talk to the judge, right?
Gibbs: No.
Wynn: What? You said you would.
Gibbs: I said I could. But I won't. You built a bomb that killed a US Marine.
(Gibbs is interrogating Joe Wynn)
Wynn: So why would I tell you anything?
Gibbs: Well, because I can help you.
Wynn: Yeah? How?
Gibbs: I've seen the prosecution's file. Let me give you a little preview of how your trial's gonna go. Texas Western and Civic Bay bombings, they got a strong case against ya. The Akas Islands, that one's a slam dunk. You're a...you're being represented by a twenty six year old public defender.
Wynn: Yeah...?
Gibbs: Your trial's a waste of the tax-payer's money. You're toast.
(After Adrianna is supposedly kidnapped)
McGee: Boss, this is all my fault. I take responsibility for what happened here. You'll have my resignation by the end of the day.
Gibbs: You break protocol McGee?
McGee: Er...no...I...
Gibbs: I'm responsible. You are part of a team, you're a part of my team, and I'm sure as hell not turning in my badge!
(Adrianna is in the shower.)
Adrianna: Tim, I need your help.
McGee: You decent?
Adrianna: You'll find out when you get here!
McGee: (Whispering to himself as he heads for the bathroom) This is not a good idea.
(After their run, Tony, McGee and Adrianna arrive back at her apartment)
Adrianna: Tony, why don't you go pick up the salads? The walk will cool you down. Wouldn't want you to cramp up. (Seductively, to McGee) I'm going to take a shower.
Tony: (To McGee) Behave yourself! We're on duty.
(Tony and McGee are running down the street behind Adrianna. The three of them pause for a minute)
Tony: You know, I ran the, er, Boston Marathon back in ninety five.
Adrianna: You didn't do so bad... for a guy your age.
(McGee laughs)
(Palmer and Ducky are performing the autopsy on the dead Marine sergeant)
Palmer: I cannot believe how many pieces of shrapnel this body absorbed.
Ducky: Not exactly shrapnel. They're called "flechettes." The report shows that Sergeant Jennings was less than three meters away when the bomb detonated. His actions saved the life of the Defense Minister and countless others.
Palmer: I'll never understand fanatics who are willing to give up their lives just to make a political statement.
Ducky: Well it's nothing new. Suicide bombing is a political tool. It can be traced back to the assassination of Tsar Alexander the second of Russia, in 1881. Alexander fell victim to a Nicholas plot, while driving on one of the central streets of Saint Petersburg, near the Winter Palace.
Palmer: You know, Abby's already called me twice. I think she's pretty anxious to get these samples.
Ducky: You are dismissed.
Palmer: Thank you so much!
Ducky: (To the body) History lesson to continue on his return.
(Adrianna is getting ready for a run. Her and Ziva are talking about their fathers when Tony walks in)
Tony: Don't get me started on fathers.
Adrianna: (To Ziva) Are you going to change?
Ziva: Erm...no. Agents DiNozzo and McGee are going to run with you.
Adrianna: What's with McGee?
(Tony laughs)
Ziva: What do you mean?
Adrianna: Is there a..."Mrs McGee?"
Tony: What a concept!
Ziva: No, he's not married.
Adrianna: Girlfriend?
Ziva: Not that I know of.
Tony: OK, what am I missing here, huh? We talking about the same guy? Timothy McGee, Icabad Crane, speaks in algorithms and looks like he has some kinda permanently frumpy expression on his face?
Ziva: Do not listen to him, Adrianna. McGee is a very sweet man. He intelligent and he is loyal...(Stands on Tony's foot)...to a fault.
Tony: We are talking about a different guy.
(Ducky and Palmer walk into Autopsy to start work, when Ducky sees the outline of a body on one of the tables)
Ducky: Did you leave one of our guests out last night, Mr Palmer?
Gibbs: Nah, Duck. It's me. Protection detail, didn't get much sleep.
Ducky: Well, what brings you down here other than a uncomfortable stainless steel bed?
(Gibbs and Tony walk into Adrianna's apartment. Tony's jaw drops as he see Adrianna but Ziva pushes it back up for him)
Ziva: Close your mouth, Tony. Her RADAR's locked on McGee.
McGee: Boss, only the one entrance and no windows that allow access.
Gibbs: (To Adrianna) Special Agent Gibbs.
Adrianna: Heard you're the silent type? (Gibbs laughs, turning to McGee)
McGee: See ya, Boss.
Adrianna: Thank you for helping me, Timmy. (Tony appears shocked) You'll be back in the morning?
McGee: Yeah
Adrianna: Bye!
(After discussing McGee's computer qualifications, the door buzzer rings in Adrianna's apartment)
Adrianna: That's somebody in the lobby.
Ziva: Must be our replacements.
(McGee fiddles with her computer, trying to fix it, while Ziva answers the intercom)
Ziva: Yes?
Gibbs: Gibbs.
Ziva: Come on up.
Adrianna: He sounds pleasant.
Ziva: That's our boss. A man of few words.
McGee: To quote the agent that'll walk in here with him, "a functional mute." I suggest you don't mess with him too much. (The computer comes to life) Alright, there we go. There is your file. Autosave was turned off so I, er, took the liberty of enabling it every sixty seconds. You shouldn't have that problem again.
Adrianna: Thank you...what are your other degrees in?
(Adrianna is typing on her laptop when it suddenly crashes, losing all her work)
Adrianna: Oh no! N-n-n-n-n-no!
Ziva: What?
Adrianna: My computer just crashed! I've lost everything! Damnit!
McGee: Well, ya know, it's really not possible to lose everything. Mind if I take a look?
Adrianna: Uh-uh, this paper's too important. I need somebody who actually knows what they're doing.
Ziva: Ha, well McGee's pretty good with computers. Among his degrees, he has a masters in Computer Forensics from MIT.
(Adrianna looks impressed)
(After Adrianna's father threatens to revoke her visa if she doesn't allow NCIS to protect her)
Adrianna: OK, you can tag along if you want. But understand I am not changing my routine for you. I've got classes, I am behind on my dissertation, and I'm training for the National Marathon next month.
McGee: We won't get in your way.
Adrianna: (Looks at her watch and then McGee) I have an appointment for a facial...and Brazilian, at four. You coming?
(McGee doesn't know what to say)
(McGee and Ziva arrive at Adrianna Gorgova's house)
McGee: Excuse me, Miss Gorgova!
Adrianna: Yes?
McGee: Hi. NCIS, Special Agents McGee and David.
Adrianna: I thought I made it clear to whomever called from the embassy. I don't need protection, I am fine. OK?
Ziva: There was an attempt on your father's life. I do not think it is your choice.
(Judd calls out from across the street)
Judd: Adrianna! Sorry I got caught up at work.
Adrianna: Give me a minute, Judd? (Judd walks away for a second. Adrianna walks in closer to Ziva) I've lived here independently and have enjoyed my privacy. My father's identity is known to very few and I intend to keep it that way.
Judd: Adrianna, we're late for the study group. You OK?
Adrianna: Yeah. (Turns to McGee and Ziva) Take your protection detail, and shove it! Let's go, Judd.
(Tony and McGee are looking over Adrianna Gorgova's visa information)
Tony: Adrianna Gorgova has been studying in the United States for the last six years. She received a bachelors degree from Princeton University and she's currently a graduate student in Diplomatic Studies at John Hamilton. Pale, dull, brainiac. She's a female "you", Timmy.
McGee: So why didn't you answer my text?
Tony: Text? (Checks his phone) Gosh, oh sorry, it was on vibrate!
Ziva: It is Tuesday, Tony. The blood drive? Eight to ten?
McGee: (Pointing to sticker) We all gave.
Tony: Oh!
Ziva: Where were you?
Tony: That's today from eight to ten! And it's just after ten so I guess, well...there's always next year.
Gibbs: They're gonna be there every morning this week.
Tony: Of course, I can always try and do it tomorrow.
McGee: If you're pushing to make Agent of the Year, it's not gonna look good if you don't give.
(Ziva laughs)
(Tony is playing with an application that distorts peoples faces)
Tony: (Talking to himself) OK, boss, here we go. My eyes are too close together, but I got BIG ears!
Gibbs: Having fun there, are ya, DiNozzo?
(Tony turns to see Gibbs, McGee and Ziva watching him)
Tony: Oh, hey Boss. It's just this new app. It's great. It's pretty funny... sometimes. Wanna see what I did to McGee? He almost looks normal.
Gibbs: No.
McGee: Thanks, Boss.
This episode was dedicated to the memory of Julio Villamariona Garcia, a security guard that died during an accident on the set of the show.

Tony: I had an incident a few years ago where I had bubonic plague, or pneumonic plague...
Tony refers to the events of the season two episode, "SWAK", in which he contracted pneumonic plague from opening a envelope full of powder.
Tony: We talking about the same guy? Timothy McGee, Ichabod Crane, speaks in algorithms...
Ichabod Crane refers to the main character in the book "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", by Washington Irving (1820), a somewhat frumpy schoolmaster who was not very successful in his wooing of Katrina, the pretty daughter of a wealthy farmer. She led Ichabod on in order to whet the interest of another man, and later refused Crane, which led to his disappearance after an encounter with The Headless Horseman.
Ziva: No, the John Belushi movie.
McGee: That's Animal House
National Lampoons Animal House (1978) is an American comedy film directed by John Landis and stars John Belushi.
Ziva: Growing up in Israel, my idea of American college life was Animal Farm.
McGee: The George Orwell book?
Eric Arthur Blair, better known as George Orwell (1903-1950), was a famous English author and journalist. Among his literary works is Animal Farm, a story dealing with revolution and corrupt leadership, which was published in 1945.
Tony: This... is my Rembrandt.
Tony refers to the famous 17th century Dutch painter and etcher, Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606-1669), when he prints out a distorted image of Abby using his application.
