Now that the strike is over (), we can speculate with some confidence that season 5 will not be the last. So how many do you think will run? I personally hope to be 9/10, but realistically, it'll probably be about 8. You never now, though, NCIS might go all Law and Order on us and do at least 18! *Prays*

I think 8 would be perfect. I don't want NCIS to start repeating itself just like shows do after season 8. Not too mention that if we get more than that then someone probably will leave the show eventually and that wouldn't be good.

I'm hoping that 7 is just enough for them to tie up all the loose ends. I don't want it to be repetitive either. Taking away half of this season hasn't helped much.

I think it will last 7 seasons. Seven is probably about as long as the writers can maintain a high quality of writing. I'd rather see a show go out strong than watch it waste away the way The Sopranos did.

Watching'Leap of Faith' last night, combined with 'Angel of Death,I had an idea of how they would end the series. Jen goes the way of Director Morrow, into the morass that is Homeland Security, & Gibbs takes over as Director of NCIS.

He didn't do too badly as acting Director, and the techs in MTAC are all too willing to follow his directions. The look on Jen's face when the feed to Arnett's boss was cut, and Gibbs comment about satellite time being expensive was hysterical.

Plus, I can just imagine Fornell just bashing his head into his desk upon hearing the news... : )

Well, I think SG-1 is one of the examples why shows shouldn't have more than 7 or 8 seasons. The last two weren't nearly as good as the other 8. The Ori was just weak compared to the Goa'uld.
