I was slightly disappointed with this one. The story was ok, but it wasn't outstanding. It would have worked better without the NCIS 'cover boy' 'B' storyline. The best parts of the episode were the Gibbs/Fornell interactions. I especially loved the last scene with Fornell fixing his Nona's recipe. For some reason I kept picturing them as living in a retirement home and arguing about meals they had been served or cooked. They definitely know each other well.

I don't know if it's just me but, NCIS seems to have lost it's spark and the team doesn't appear to be as tight as it once was.

I was looking forward to the Gibbs/Fornell interaction but all the best bits were in the promos and there wasn't a whole lot of them together anyway.

The B plot was silly and I was sure right from the beginning that Gibbs would be the one on the cover. I think a better twist would have been McGee on the cover.

All in all, I found it to be a very predictable episode and I sincerely hope the season improves.

It was a good episode, loved the scenes with Gibbs and Fornell. Glad the interns are gone.

    Yeah.. no more interns please..

Although the poster and the magazine cover suggests they are on a hiring spree, they want more people in NCIS, why?

I think they have confirmed many times that the 4 are irreplaceable.

Remember when they separated the team?

Nice to see Tiffy again as a former Unit fan but other than that really weak. The cover man story was a weak distraction and what should've been the meat and potatoes of the episode. Gibbs and Fornel their interactions were sadly lacking and I really hope Ziva wasn't pointing her gun at what was the victim tied to what we thought was a bomb.

I liked but did not love the episode. NO INTERNS, awesome! Yes, it was very easy to tell that Gibbs was going to be a cover boy. And I loved the head slap. The Fornell-Gibbs interaction was fine. I wish there were more of it, like at the gas station when they were driving the big rigs.

Whatever he grew the beard for, it's done now. Wonder what it was. He had it when he was on In Plain Sight too.

Better episode than the previous one, that one really was a 'nightmare'. The interns didn't even bother me that much. What I really don't get is, why round up all unfinished business and cliffhangers of season 7 in the first episode of the new season and start some new storylines as well and then completely disregard them in the next episodes ? I mean, I think I would have enjoyed 'Worst Nightmare' more (probably still wouldn't have liked it) if they had also included the new storylines of Eli David finding a person Mossad and Vance are after and who Ziva's mysterious friend is ?

I love this show and don't want to quote welnoc in saying that it is losing its spark, but it comes close. Maybe, if so many people think that TIVA will ruin this show, it is time to start with that. I mean, come on, how many seasons are they planning after this one ? JAG lasted 10 seasons and I lost interest in the sixth one.

It spawned NCIS in the eighth one, though. I watched it just for that.

I guess we don't have a Season 8 story arc just yet.

I also would like to see more Dinozzo Sr. MacGee hitting it more with the lie detector chick and more Tiva.

    Yup!
And it doesn't have to be (shouldn't be) relationship Tiva, just the old chemistry Tiva!

In an episode of NCIS he mentioned he grew the beard because he was undercover. He might have kept it for In Plain Sight because the NCIS writers might not have wanted him to trim it yet. He also might have just wanted to grow one in real life and they just wrote in a line to explain why he had one all of a sudden. Funnies part of this episode though was the Gibbs headslap on the cardboard Dinozzo and Tony's reaction to it
