GOOF: The blow to the dead Captain's head is on the rear left quadrant of his skull, but in the teaser the Captain turned and faced his attacker before the blow was struck, so it's unlikely an attack would have landed on the back of his head.
TRIVIA: McGee says that he was 12 at Christmas in 1989, which would mean he was born in 1977 and at present is either 31 or 32 years old.
GOOF: McGee says he was able to use Jennings' emails to ID the NIC address on the recipient's computer. The generally accepted term is MAC address, not NIC address. It is not possible to determine the MAC address of a NIC on the recipient's computer from an email. Could McGee have been confused and meant IP address? This does not sound like an error he would make.
GOOF: At the start of the episode, Tony is struggling with a Fatal Exception 0E error, also known as a BSOD. The error flashes and makes noise, which is atypical of Fatal Exception errors. McGee is able to resolve the error by pressing the "F Mode" key, which is used for controlling the behaviour of function keys on Tony's Logitech Media Keyboard and would not have any effect on a Fatal Exception error. Furthermore, McGee is looking at the left screen when he presses the key when the error is showing on the right flat screen.
McGee: We're trying to make a connection between Jennings and his killer.
Ziva: Brandon Seichs, but we've hit a dead end.
Tony: No pun intended.
Ziva: Actually, it was.
Tony: Oh. In that case, nicely done.
Kevin: (as he's being arrested) This is insane!
Tony: Unbelievably insane. And you are a psychopath! You've just leapfrogged to the top of our 'Psychopath of the Year' list.
Tony: (as Gibbs interrogates Capt. Jennings' maid) It's like I said, it's always the maid.
Ziva: No, you have always said it's the janitor, or the butler, or anyone assigned to work in Abby's lab. But you have never once said, 'maid'!
Tony: Anyone ever tell you your memory can be a real buzz kill?
Tony: (to Jessica, Dr Daniels' assistant) So, what's a nice girl like you doing at a top secret, government counter-espionage gadget lab like this?
Jessica: Bet that sounded better in your head.
Tony: No, not really.
Ducky: Reminiscence of a rather dark period in English history. Did you know that the preferred method of punishment for treason was to be hanged, drawn and quartered? They would hang victims by the neck and they were taken from the scaffold before they could have the freedom of death and disemboweled. Just like this chap. Except unlike him they would hack them into four quarters and drag them through the streets, their heads stuck on pikestaffs.
Ziva: Nice story, Ducky.
Ducky: Well, I did say it was dark. And thankfully ancient history.
Gibbs: Not so ancient, Duck.
McGee: So much for my date tonight. Tony: Whoa, whoa... (grabs McGee's arm) What are you doing? So you're giving the psycho another chance?
McGee: Well I was, I guess now I gotta cancel.
Tony: What is that silliness? (McGee looks to where Tony is gripping his arm. Tony removes it) Sorry. Ziva and I will cover the interviews for you.
McGee: That is awfully un-Tony of you, Tony.
Tony: I'm just doing you a solid, Probie because you having a date is about as rare as me not having one.
Abby (after Gibbs reveals that her Caf-Pow! is in the fridge): I don't know how you did that and I don't care!
Ziva: You have to tell him [McGee] the truth.
Tony: Not until I'm absolutely sure lying won't work.
Ziva: He really likes her, Tony. You have to tell him.
Tony (laughs): I know. But it's actually kind of flattering... in a creepy way.
Ziva (angry): What did you think would happen?
Tony: I don't know... the flaw in the plan was the plan but I got another plan to end it.
Ziva: Which is?
Tony: You ever see Fatal Attraction?
Ziva: It is nice when a couple has so much in common. Like McGee and his new sorceress friend.
Tony (huilty): Oh yeah... I was going to talk to you about that. (laughs) It's kinda funny, actually. Ah, let's see... How do I put this delicately? Umm. She... She's not real.
Ziva: You did not.
Tony: I did. I was bored. It was late. I'd just watched Weird Science. Next thing I knew I was building a fake online profile and IM-ing with McGee.
Tony: Carla.
McGee: Claire.
Tony: Whatever, enjoy it while it lasts; women are trouble. Haven't you learned anything from me?
McGee: Yeah, not to go on undercover dates with a doctor whose father is the world's biggest arms dealer.
Tony (offended): That's low, Probie.
McGee (unfazed): Oh, and not to loan your friends money- you still owe me 40 bucks.
Tony (worked-up): Don't change the subject... What are you talking about?
Gibbs: Who found the body?
Local LEO: A couple of kids in one of our warming huts, or as they like to call them--
Tony: Love shacks.
Local LEO: Yeah, how'd you know?
Tony: Lucky guess.
Local LEO (sarcastically): Mmmh Mmmmh.
In addition to his regular role, Michael Weatherly also voiced Beary Smiles.

"Peppermint and Glue" by Sharon Little is playing inside the bar.
Rocky Carroll is credited but doesn't appear.
Tony: (Talking about McGee's new girlfriend whom he has never met in real life) You don't know who these people are. It could be a 45 year-old overweight man in Minnesota.
This could be a reference to episode 2x09 "Forced Entry", in which Tony starts dating a person he thinks is a girl with the screen name "Hotjugs24". At the end of the episode, McGee traces the screen name and finds it belongs to a person that fits very nicely with the description Tony gave him in this episode.
Tony: Hackers? Very young Angelina Jolie I liked.
Tony is referring to the movie Hackers from 1995, with Jonny Lee Miller and only 20-year-old Angelina Jolie. In this movie a group of young Hackers unite to fight against an evil computer genius while being chased by the FBI.
Tony: Ever see Fatal attraction?
Fatal Attraction is a 1989 psychological thriller starring Michael Douglas, Glenn Close and Anne Archer. It is a story of a successful lawyer whose weekend of passion results in his lover stalking him and his family.
The "Barry Smiles" talking bear shown in this episode bears striking similarity in both appearance and function to real life 1985 hit childrens toy, Teddy Ruxpin.
