Aired Tuesday 8:00 PM Dec 13, 2005 on CBS

  • Trivia

    • TRIVIA: The NCIS ME vehicle has the same license plate as Ari Haswari's SUV in "Kill Ari (2)" 724-TJA.

    • TRIVIA: A return of the GSM ("Get Some Monthly") Magazine, last seen in Season 3's "Silver War". Tony stated he was a fan of the magazine, and in this episode gets one autographed by the supermodels.

    • TRIVIA: In this episode, Gibbs was honored as the "NCIS Special Agent of the Year". Gibbs didn't attend the ceremony, and DiNozzo accepted the award on his behalf. According to the CBS Character Profile, Gibbs has won the award six times in the past decade -- and has never shown up to accept it. DiNozzo keeps the awards locked in his desk drawer.

    • TRIVIA: In this episode, Tony says that his father disowned him for some reason. In real life, Michael Weatherly's father in fact DID disown him because he wanted to take up acting, and his father was a rich big time trading company manager.

  • Quotes

    • Ziva: You are aware that I've never performed an interrogation without inflicting some sort of pain.

    • Crawley: This entire reality series was Taylor's idea. I have never seen her happier, she loved it here.
Ziva: How did she get the drugs?
Crawley: She didn't. The whole point of the show was to show that she wasn't that girl anymore.
Ziva: Well let's say it backfired large time.
      Tony: It's big time.

    • Tony (Reading the card on the flowers from Abby): Get well soon.
Abby: They didn't have a card that said "sorry-I-almost-sent-you-to-prison" at the flowershop.
Tony: Almost? You actually did send me to prison.
      Abby: Well not for good.

    • Hanna (To Ziva): We're supermodels, honey, we don't have to get along.

    • (Seeing the press)
      McGee: This is bad.
Tony: Gibbs is going to go completely and utterly ape.

    • Tony: Boss, the Director's new hair- you like the way she cut it short?
      Gibbs: She cut her hair?
      Tony: Never mind.

    • Gibbs: You writing a gossip column, Palmer?
Palmer: (stammering) I was just informing Dr. Mallard that, that...that he...we...I... (walks off)

    • Gibbs: Hey, Abbs! Got some good news for ya. Just talked to the director and your new assistant starts Monday.
Abby: No, Gibbs! No! I can't go through that again! (notices Gibbs' smile) That is so not funny!
      Gibbs: No?
      Abby: No!
      Gibbs: It was to me!

    • Gibbs: You wanna help fix this? Then get me that reporter's number!
      Jenny: You're going to apologize?
Gibbs: No, ask her to dinner!

    • Gibbs: Accidental overdose, Duck?
Ducky: I doubt it, she had enough PCP in her system to kill a small... water buffalo.
      Gibbs: Water buffalo?
Ducky: I tire of saying small horse.

    • Ziva: (to Tony) What?
Tony: Just trying to picture Paris and you together.
Ziva: Don't get your hopes up. I'm not attracted to blondes.

    • Ziva: Isn't your family weathy?
      Tony: That's different.
      Ziva: Why?
Tony: My dad cut me off when I was twelve. I had to earn all my dates the old fashioned way.
      Ziva: Begging?

    • Abby: (after giving Tony the black roses) Now, don't forget to water them, or they'll die.
Tony (under his breath): I thought they already were...

    • McGee: She planted herself on a barbwire fence what could possibly be worse?
Abby: My top three are falling in the wood chipper, drowning in lava, and being eaten by a shark.

    • Tony: I don't think anyone could ever hate you.
Abby: Ooh! You don't know Billy Bob.
Tony: You gave him black roses?
Abby: No! I gave him two black eyes. He tried to run over me with a Harley Fat Boy when I was sleeping in the living room.
Tony: A guy ran a motorcycle through your living room?
Abby: Yeah. No. It was his living room, my Harley. (short pause) Billy Bob had uhm, intimacy issues.

    • (Ziva to Tony as they walk away from the models)
Ziva: Do you really find her attractive, because I want to shoot her.

    • McGee: You know I read somewhere you're more likely to be struck by lightning then you are eaten by a shark.
Abby: Not if you're a seal.

    • Gibbs (to McGee): Are you waiting for me to guess, Elf Lord? ((Elf Lord being a reference to McGee's character in a yet-unnamed MMORPG)

  • Allusions

    • Tony tells one of the models they have her fingerprints on record from her arrest on charges of beating up her assistant with her cell phone.

This is possibly a quiet reference to real-life supermodel, Naomi Campbell, who has had charges filed against her numerous times for assaulting her paid staff, including her personal assistant. On more than one occasion, the assaults involved either a regular telephone, a cell phone, or a BlackBerry.

    • McGee compares the reality show that the models are filming to The Simple Life. The Simple Life is a reality show starring Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie that originally aired on Fox. Each season, the girls take on "challenges" that they otherwise wouldn't encounter. These have included living on a farm, working as interns, and even spending time with families as a temporary wife/mother.

    • Gibbs: Sounds like Mr. Wizard.

Watch Mr. Wizard was a TV show for kids in the 1950's that gave a scientific explanation for everyday occurrences. Don Herbert starred as the original Mr. Wizard. It was revived in 1971 and again in the 1980s.

    • Abby: It reminds me of Bill Nye.

Bill Nye is the name of the host of the Emmy Award-winning TV program Bill Nye the Science Guy. Airing from 1992 to 1998, the program was targeted to preteens and attempted to explain various scientific topics. In addition to being a scientist, he is also a mechanical engineer.

    • Tony: We were talking about Cagney and Lacy...

Cagney and Lacy is the name of 1980s crime drama about two female NYPD detectives starring Tyne Daly as Lacy and Sharon Gless as Cagney.

    • Tony: I don't think anyone could ever hate you.
Abby: Ooh! You don't know Billy Bob.

This seems to foreshadow episode 3x21, "Bloodbath." Someone tries to kill Abby. In that episode, Abby says "But who'd want to kill me? I mean, DiNozzo I could understand..."
