NCIS is a well done and straight forward crime scene procedural show. For me, the formula the show is comfort food entertainment. Each season follows a memorable cast of characters and an over arcing story line that usually ends with a season finale cliff hanger. The actors are all likable and the humor and situations they find themselves in are all passable. I also enjoy the military centric nature of the show . Navy). Although, I should mention there are times when NCIS can come off as corny or cheesy. Overall, I find the longevity and comforting feeling I get from watching the show more than makes up for any downsides the series may have.
Don't know how one of the most boring action oriented and horrid juvenile humor in a serious environment kinda show can be #1. Characters are annoying as can't take the show serious because the juvenile lame humor disrupts the plot every other minute, and I can never really fear for the character's safety or connect with them.
NCIS is The best drama show on TV, bar none but I will be watching it no longer. The backgroune music drowns out the verbage and in order to hear the talking, I try turning up the volume only to get louder background music. Background music is supposed to be just that, only to be heard in the background. NOT to drown out the cast's voices! The program is a 10, the background noise is a beg fat ZERO!!!
I think the NCIS commercial funeral scene is done in poor taste. It is not comical in the least to show someone getting slapped in the back of the head at a funeral. The funeral scene needs to be deleted from the commercial. It is disrespectful to those who are mourning the loss of a loved one. My true rating for this scene is zero but it is not available on the rating scale.
One of my favorite NCIS episodes starred Charles Durning as a World War Two vet of the fighting on Iwo Jima. The scene where he dances with Kate while softly singing Begin the Beguine is simply elegant. Rest in peace Charles.
This show is one of my favorites. I wish it could go on forever. The characters are all growing and that is good on a tv show. it keeps things interesting. I love everybody on the show. but when i noticed that a different girl that replaced Kate, I was like 'where in the heck did she go?' I didn't know it at the time that the writer's killed her off. So I had to go back and watch 1-6 seasonsof the show to get back in the groove. I love the character Ziva. she makes the show more humorous. I love watching every episode and can't miss a single episode.
I cannot miss any episode (at least I try not to), great scripts, directing,producers,camera... not to speak of the actors: good, believeable, good, good casting... love "Gibbs,Ducky, Tony, McGee, Ziva, Abby, the directors... all, big and small, very talented crew" !!!!!
I am probably alone here but when are the writers of NCIS going to stop the Tony/Ziva hour. I want to see Tony have some guts want the old Tony back, preferably the one I saw on Baltimore. I implore the writers to get back to business. As a criminal justice major, I would like to see more criminal justice and tough Tony and ;ess Tony/Ziva. REMEMBER RULE 12.
I enjoy NCIS, but it took some getting used to. I like the personal interactions between characters, and I like the crime investigations, but the writers really use a great deal of creative license. (More than in any other crime show I have ever seen.) By this I mean that NO ONE is that unprofessional at work. If any federal agency DOES act that way at work, I want my tax dollars back. Quit screwing around! Also, it seems like other crime shows are able to fill the episodes with information that keeps you guessing. I almost always know how an NCIS episode it going to end by the half-way mark. All of the witty banter leaves less time for as many twists and turns. Of course, I'm not convinced that the writers can write excellent mysteries, but I know they write funny, though ridiculous, character interactions. You just have to look at the show as a comedy with some entertaining, if unrealistic, crime-fighting. Then it is great to watch. I quite like watching it, so I hope I haven't given the wrong impression. I am just a little amazed by some of the crazy devotees, because it is obviously not one of the most intelligent or believable shows around.
My wife and I love the shows and crew Tony always makes me laugh even when Gibbs smacks him in the back of the head, Abby and McGee the team work that you two do is awesome, I like listening to Duckies history stories when Gibbs doesn't have time but you keep it going by talking to the victoms, Ziva love how nomatter big or small the guy is always on the ground and you haven't broke a sweat, And the best for last Leroy Jethro Gibbs you are my favorite you were a marine before but you keep that with you. I wanted to join the marines to do sniping but i couldn't past the test I really hope they never stop this show cause I don't like NCIS LA keep it going.
I've been watching this show for almost ten years now. It has everything... Crime Show, Cop Show, Doctor Show, Action Show, Military Show, Character Show. It has it all and I love Abby and Ziva. I hope it continues for aleast another 3 to 5 years.
I absolutly luv Gibbs, Abby, Ziva, Tony, and of couse MCGEE! I luv him. My bro introduced me to NCIS and I AM NOW OBSESSED WITH IT. I noticed that USA: Characters Welcome plays it every other day. Who thinks that Mcgee is ADORABLE?!?!?!?!? I luved the episode: Murder 2.0
I love this show because i am a fan of Abby,Gibbs,Tony,McGee, Ziva ,Jimmy,Ducky because they have all different Personality's. Abby is a badass women with a Gothic attitude. Tony is a Playboy because he love to chase women. Ziva is badass with a weapon's degree, McGee is a computer genius like me, Jimmy is a married man which might end in divorce because Gibbs warned him that some women like a guy for money, Ducky is a master's degree medical examiner that knows the in's and outs and Leon is a leader to keep everyone in check.
Therapists, even chaplains, have come and gone on NCIS, but none have fit in so well with this great ensemble cast as Steve Valentine. His elegant, British, psychiatrist, who stand up to and (a big first) in the way of Gibbs, was, finally, the perfect choice. Hope to see Mr. Valentine reprise his role in other episodes.
