Asuka is hot, hot hot!!! I enjoyed this episode very much and the 6th Angel appears and it's up to Asuka......and Shinji inside Asuka's Eva-02 to beat it. This episode was very good and it's one of my favorites for one: Battle action, and 2) ASUKA!!! I hope everyone here can enjoy this episode as much as I did.
  • Nothing special

We are introduced to anime's second most tragic figures of all time, Asuka Langley. Many may not agree with me, but I personally found Asuka's situation as depressing as Shinji's. Anyways, she's the new pilot for the newest member of the Evangelion team. Though while the UN fleet was transporting her EVA to Japan, an underwater angel attacks. Asuka, who so desperately wants to prove to everyone she's the best pilot of the trio, decides to go ahead and destroy it herself. However, it didn't seem possible at this point, but with Misato's brilliant plans, they've destroyed it.

This episode isn't really anything special; the only good thing about it was the fights and the tactic that Misato used, but other than that, nothing that great. It simply introduces the new character Asuka to everyone and of her pride.moreless

    • (Kensuke taking lasts videos of the fleet, Asuka comes down via escalator, Toji looks at her, then up the escalator) Toji: (in a shocked, almost bewildered voice, points at the next person, Shinji, coming down) Dah! Look! (Kensuke looks over with camera while Shinji tries to cover himself, looking like a girl) Kensuke: Nice outfit!

    • (Asuka hands Shinji a red flight suit, obviously designed for females) Asuka: Well? Put it on! (Shinji looks at the suit, then back up.) Asuka: Don't just stand there! Get moving! Shinji: (in the suit, and in a flustered voice) Okay, but why do we need these flight suits, Asuka? Asuka: Isn't it obvious?! We're going to beat that Angel with my Unit-02!

    • (after Asuka's EVA fails to start when she tries speaking the start-up sequence in German) Shinji: What's the problem? Asuka: Thought noise! I told you not to disturb me! Shinji: What? Asuka: You're thinking in Japanese. If you must think, do it in German! Shinji: OK, uh... struedel, bratwurst... Asuka: BAKA!

    • Asuka: My name is Asuka Langley Soryu. Charmed, huh?

    • (After Asuka's dress blows up because of the wind on the aircraft carrier, she slaps Shinji, Toji, and Kensuke.) Toji: WHAT WAS THAT FOR?! Asuka: That's the viewing fee. Quite a bargain, huh? Toji: It's overpriced! But OK, wanna see mine?! (Toji drops his pants.) (Asuka slaps Toji again.)
