It seems like EVA unit 04 and the entire branch of NERV that was established in Nevada had disappeared. However, EVA 03 was already on its way to Japan, and they were still in the process of picking its pilot. That pilot seemed to be another close acquaintance to Shinji, which many thought would have been a perfect pick. But the fourth child is still having thoughts of whether he should pilot it or not. Though that decision may have been sealed when he requested them to transport his severely injured relative to a better hospital. Pretty sure those who have followed the story so far should know who this person is. There's nothing really special about this episode, leaving a lot to be desired.moreless

    • The title of this episode, "FOURTH CHILDREN," is not a translation error. "Children," the plural of "Child," is used to refer to each of the Eva pilots in the singular (i.e. Shinji is the "Third Children," not the "Third Child.") This is intentional, and not a translation error. The English language dub produced by ADV, however, uses the word "Child" instead of "Children."
