The first part of Revival of Evangelion, Death (true) 2, was originally released as part of Death and Rebirth which itself consisted of two parts. The first part, Death, consists of a 60-minute edit of the Neon Genesis Evangelion television show, including redone scenes and several new scenes. The version used in Revival, called Death (true) 2 is a re-editing of Death without the new scenes (which were added to the Director's Cut of certain episodes of the television series) and a few minor changes.
