this epsidoe is very exciting, as it explains as small bit about misato's history, and what happened in the seocnd impact it is one of the best!!! also the epsidoe show what the lance was hidden, and what the southpole looks like and it looks like a sea of blood.
  • A very special episode.

Misato had gained rank of becoming 3rd in command of NERV. It was this time that an extremely large Angel was making an attack against Tokyo-3. However, both the first and second in command were absent, which leaves Misato with all the planning and work. Her plan in defeating the Angels were successful.

There wasn't really much fighting, but that wasn't the reason why this episode was excellent. We finally uncover the true intentions of Misato joining NERV. It appears that she was never really close with her father, and often times despised him. However, during the second impact, her father carried in his arms his daughter, trapping her in a protective capsule in order to shield her from the impact. Misato hadn't talked for years after what she experienced, but finally made the decision to join NERV in order to compensate for her past sins. What I liked most about this is it's not the usual father-loving-daughter situations, yet the other way around. Yet, Neon Genesis makes the unexpected and turns it into something very satisfying.moreless
