The day starts off with everyone doing normal chores, but things are cut short when the power mysteriously goes out in Tokyo-3. The three Children must find their way back to headquarters with the overconfident guidance of Asuka. While Hyuga is in the city above, he hears from a U.N. plane flying overhead that another Angel is approaching and makes his way to NERV to start the manual activation of the Evas.moreless

This is for the guys who've read the manga- What the h***?

If you have read the manga, then you know that there was never an angel attack, shinji and asuka have an akward meeting with misato and kaji, and more flustering takes place. And has anyone else noticed how often Rei is ,like, backup or a sheild? Just about every time. Aside from that, it had a pretty good storyline. This gives you more of a glimpse into the angel's attack ranges and the eva's capabilities. (Also, why is there an eva- sized air duct?)moreless

A spider like figure approaches the city, and when it made its entrance, the power went out. This made it extremely difficult for the three to enter their Evangelions, but using manual procedures, they were able to launch their EVAs. The Angel was able to produce a special type of acidic liquid which could allow it to penetrate the Geofront, but using a plan produced by Asuka, they were able to defeat it before it advanced any further. Really, this episode feels more like a filler episode. The only part I found exciting is how the three worked together in order to defeat this spider.moreless
